We continued our lesson on helping and linking verbs. First, I went over the definitions for these different types of verbs and gave them examples. I also focused on how these verbs can change the tense. For homework, I assigned the last three grammar workbook pages on linking verbs. We then did some preliminary work on sentence construction; we completed the first two writing workbook pages on identifying sentence fragments.

Today, I gave the student extra practice for her upcoming math test on positive and negative integers. I created a 25 question pre-test for her to complete. While she was completing that I went over her homework. After she completed the test, we worked on her language arts skills, which we spent the majority of the time on. I taught her how to outline an essay to assist in her writing. I then had her outline an essay on her own and do some pre-writing.
