Today's subject was balancing chemical equations.   We looked at notes and explanations as well as sample questions from myself, the school, and the text book. Today we worked on reading comprehension and analogies. Discussed strategies he could use when he comes across unknown vocabulary words. He did very well in the first set of analogy questions. I also timed him on a Math section. He needs to read carefully and check his work. Many times he knows the approach and way to solve the problem but got it wrong because he overlooked something. I left him a sheet of Math questions to work on.

Tutoring review by David in Bergen County, NJ
The student took his first practice exam this week, and we covered the missed problems on the writing and math sections. While covering the problems, I noticed that he knew how to answer the questions when looking over them, so I am working with him to read carefully when answering the 'easy' questions. Based on his target score range, I believe increasing his accuracy for 'easy' problems that he has shown understanding for is the best approach.
