Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we reviewed everything we have been working on (alphabet, colors and body parts) by using white boards and cards. Both students drew and wrote on their boards to check for understanding. We also worked on "Feelings" in Spanish. The children drew the emotion and also acted out a scene by using Spanish."
"Today was an excellent session. The student had a positive attitude from the very beginning. We started working on his homework, which was to make up a flag and describe it in Spanish. We then started to review the current chapter being covered in class. I had him read the activities and go over newest Spanish vocabulary words. The student did great today!"
"We went over the differences between the imperfect and the preterite. We used a mariachi song, a cultural mnemonic device, acronyms and reviewed time expressions. The student was very proactive and enthusiastic. I told him, as HW, he needs to study everything we saw today so I can assess him next week, when we meet again on Tuesday."
"We practiced how to make plural forms of the irregular nouns, learned how to count from 0 to 10, and how to ask and answer the question "how many/how much?". During the second half of the lesson, we reviewed the material of the previous three lessons."
"The student and I went over some alphabet and broke down the letters into categories as well as practiced pronunciation. We learned some common greetings and went over their pronunciation a couple of times. I will be sending him an email by the end of the night with all the resources used."
"We went over our first few phrases for her to learn until our next session. She expressed that she would be interested in meeting twice a week. We went over some cultural aspects of Japan that she was interested in. She has an amazing talent for pronunciation and is very willing to learn. We will work on more phrases on Thursday."
