I am an accounting professional with 5+ years of experience. I earned my Master's degree in Business Administration in 2018 with an Accounting concentration. I have tutored since high school when I volunteered with elementary school students as a math tutor. In college, I tutored on my own time, and I also tutored through my University's official tutor program. I have since tutored elementary school, middle school, high school, and adult students. I tutor math for elementary, middle, and high school students, statistics, and basic accounting and business concepts. My favorite subject to teach is statistics. In my free time, I run, watch TV, and read.

I was born and raised in Athens, Greece where I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Accounting & Finance from Athens University of Economics & Business (2004). My passion for learning and experiencing new cultures led me to New York City where I graduated with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA in Marketing) from Pace University (2008).Currently, I work for ABC Languages, a language school in Manhattan, teaching Greek to children and adults in private and group settings. I also work for Penguin Random as an online Greek teacher and a translator. Last but not least, for the past nine months I am with Kidz Choice Services, Inc as an ABA therapist in bilingual environments (English and Greek) where I successfully completed my Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification. I also observed several hours of clinical trials both in private and school settings. In addition, I participated in several seminars such as, "Seminar on Discrete Trial Training (DTT)" and "Seminar on self-injurious behavior & self-stimulatory behavior", followed by three practical hours respectively. At the same time, I am pursuing a Masters in Early Childhood Education & Special Education at Touro College.My path so far has given me the opportunity to develop a wide variety of skills -classroom experience in diverse environmental and geographical settings, excellent critical and analytical thinking, problem solving and research, and organizational and communications skills- which makes me an ideal tutor.

When I was a child, I found and read the book series The Story of the World by Susan Wise Bauer. I positively loved the series and it inspired my love and interest of history. This has continued with me into adulthood and influenced my decision to pursue a bachelors degree in history. However, prior to college, I was homeschooled through high school which allowed me to be flexible and self-motivated in learning. After high school, I went on to study at a college level, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in History from Thomas Edison State University. I received many of my college credits from taking CLEP and DSST tests allowing me to graduate with a degree by the time I was eighteen. For completing my degree in this way, I received the Arnold Fletcher Award, an award for students with exceptional achievement in nontraditional learning.While studying at Thomas Edison I also had the opportunity and privilege to help coach a speech and debate group for a year, helping students improve on their speaking abilities. I also later worked as a chess instructor helping the students learn about the fundamentals of chess. Currently, I work as a substitute teacher at a private school. For the past several years I have also worked as a bookkeeper and I currently working in the finance office at a school. So, I am equipped to help students with finance and with computer application. With whatever I teach though, I believe that I should not instruct just for the purpose of people of obtaining knowledge so they can pass a test. I want knowledge that I give them to be used as wisdom for how they live life; applied knowledge. So, I hope that I have the opportunity to serve students through tutoring and help equip them for school and for life.

After graduation, I worked as a controller and financial manager for over 20 years for big manufacturing companies. I immigrated 7 years ago to raise my children in the US so let they have better opportunities. I have a US CPA license, and I am working as an accountant for a big education-related company in VA.I take learning very seriously, and I try to learn at least one new thing every day. Therefore, I know that the amount of time and effort required to learn the same knowledge can vary greatly depending on the person teaching it. I have a talent for explaining complicated content in an easy-to-understand manner, so I have a lot of experience teaching students preparing for university entrance exams. And I can help those who want to learn Korean, or who need financial/accounting knowledge essential for business operation and Excel knowledge to maximize work efficiency within a short time.I am not a native English speaker. During college, I spent some time at the Columbus Literacy Council, where I helped adults learn to read and develop English skills. I enjoy tutoring math because you can do so much with it. Mathematics provides a variety of useful tools that can be used in a variety of different places. My tutoring style is to help the student learn how to break down problems into smaller, more manageable pieces. I am looking forward to helping students learn and accomplish things they didn't think they could accomplish. My hobbies include reading and playing video games.
