Tutoring review by Stacy in Athens, GA
The first student completed worksheets on 3's, 4's and 11's.  She did great!!!! I also showed her how to maneuver the math software.  She can now change her topics and games.  I also set the second student up as an user so he can use the program also. On Wednesday I will bring worksheets for 4's, 11's, and will start on 9's.  The first student is getting faster and using her fingers less for the easier factors.

The student is making really great progress.  His English-to-Latin sentences have really improved and he is becoming more comfortable recalling verb/noun forms and syntax as well as dealing with Latin's irregularities.  It's been really great to see his improvements just over the past month.

We worked through 5 homework problems using the indirect method of proofs. The student agreed that what he the most help with is identifying the appropriate reasoning for each step of his proofs. We scheduled for 4 pm on Sunday  and 3:45 next Wednesday. I'm going to try to locate a good list of definitions and theorems for us to use in proofs. In general, he seems like a great kid. I think it will really help him to just have the practice of working through problems together so that he gains a sense of how to do them correctly.

Tutoring review by Linda in Athens, GA
The student practiced writing sight words that we have been working on the last couple of weeks using whiteboards. She makes connections and refers back to a book that we have recently read when she can't quite remember how to spell it. She will look through the book, read the sentences until she comes to the word that she is looking for, and then will spell it on her whiteboard. She and I used picture sorts today to review the letters/letter sounds of 'g' and 'y.' After our picture sorts, she reviewed the letter 'y' by making a web and listed as well as drew a picture of 4 things that start with the letter 'y.' She also practiced writing the letter in capital and lower case. I had her read a book, and she was able to retell the story in sequence order. She was able to draw me a picture of her favorite part of the story and write a short sentence about it. ("I like to play.")

Tutoring review by Kendra in Athens, GA
The student and I focused on learning her script for her up-coming school dinner. I said the sentences and she repeated them, in order for her to memorize them as well as work on good pronunciation. When we encountered grammatical issues, I explained them to her in order for her to understand the script and therefore be able to memorize it.

Tutoring review by Ibrahim in Athens, GA
In this session, we covered single variable expressions and how to solve them. Initially, we looked over factoring so that he would have a better understanding of working with these expressions. Then we worked on adding expressions and combining like terms so that the expression could be fully simplified. There were three homework assignments and he completed all of them.
