Hey! I'm a rising sophomore at Georgia Institute of Technology. I love teaching and got a lot of practice from tutoring my brother. Physics is probably my favorite subject to teach.In my spare time, I produce music and play/watch a ton of basketball! (Feel free to talk to me about either)

I received a Bachelor's degree in English with a secondary field (minor) in French at Harvard College. For my honors creative thesis in poetry, I wrote 52 original poems, centered on themes of transit, transience, nature, and urban life (particularly how these categories intersect). I also created and taught humanities courses to high school and middle school students through the Educational Studies Program at Harvard. Through this group, I co-founded ESProut, a program focused on bringing free after-school classes to under-resourced schools in the greater Somerville area, through which I taught French and poetry. Following graduation, I spent the school-year working as an English language teaching assistant at a high school in Bordeaux, France where I created lessons focusing on grammar, vocabulary, idiomatic speech, and culture. This past year, I received my master's in English at the University of Cambridge, writing a dissertation on trans-Atlantic/trans-cultural poetry with a focus on Walt Whitman, T.S. Eliot, and Jules Laforgue. Many summers have found me working as a residential assistant for Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth, where I often would run the ever popular Seuss & Silverstein appreciation session. My ultimate goal is to become a high school English teacher and I am interested in becoming involved in educational policy at the national level later on in my life. Teaching is a joy that has always rivaled the happiness I receive from reading a great poem or communicating in another language. English and French literature are the two great passions of my life, and it is when I'm teaching that I feel most like I am doing meaningful and rewarding work. When I'm not reading poetry or practicing my French, I like boogie-boarding (a recently acquired skill), hiking, baking (often French desserts), and knitting.

I recently graduated summa cum laude from Hobart College with degrees in French and Francophone Studies and European Studies and a minor in Environmental Studies. I have three years of experience tutoring French students of all levels at Hobart and William Smith Colleges between 2014 and 2016.Although I am not a native French speaker, I believe that I am better equipped to teach the language since I have gone through the learning process myself.I am approachable, patient, and flexible and I believe it is a joy to teach.

I have a strong background in English. My years of travel experience have helped me develop excellent cultural sensitivity and awareness, and I work well with people from all backgrounds. I am especially familiar with critical analysis of film and theater, but have studied a variety of literary traditions.

I am a Columbia University graduate who majored in Political Science, Classics and History. I have also spent the last year as an English teacher in Connecticut.I am available to tutor in New York City and the Stamford, CT area or online.

I'm a recent graduate of Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School with an MPA and concentrations in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy. I did my undergrad at The Ohio State University where I studied Arabic and Development Economics. Previously, I worked in international affairs in various hotspots throughout the world including Afghanistan and Iraq. I enjoy teaching and empowering students to not only learn the material at hand but also develop skills that can help them solve a variety of other problems.

I recently graduated Case Western Reserve University, a year early, with a bachelors degree in Biochemistry. My science background has taught me the value of good teaching, and has consequently impacted how I, myself tutor students. I tutor students in the SAT/ACT math and writing sections, biological sciences, and middle school level math/algebra. My goal in tutoring each student is to not only get the student to understand the material, but to also enjoy their process of learning!

Good teaching begins with respect for the needs, interests, and learning styles of each student. However, it also depends on proper training and subject knowledge. In this respect, my teaching has been enriched by graduate study (M.A., M.Phil, Medieval European History), including intensive study of both history and languages, including German, Latin, French, and Spanish, which I speak fluently.Furthermore, my teaching has been shaped by many years of working as a high-school history/social studies teacher. I have taught Global History, and several electives like Political Philosophy, Modern Latin America, Strategic Thinking, and Religion. I have also taught test preparation and ESL.This background enables me to provide instructive, substantive lessons, understand and draw upon each student's needs and potentialities, and to unlock his or her academic potential. In addition to subject knowledge, effective self-expression (written and oral) and reasoned analysis of well-chosen evidence, I also encourage students to develop a genuine interest in the subject by showing them how historical study may touch on today's most pressing issues and on their own personal lives.The skills gained along the way--expository writing, public speaking, and critical thinking--will propel students to success not only in school, but in every field of endeavor.

I am currently working towards my Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, with minors in French and Francophone Studies and Violin Performance. I am a tutor for several levels of French and Chemistry. I love tutoring students because I find these subjects incredibly fulfilling and enriching to learn and I really enjoy helping others understand them on a deeper level.Outside of academics, I love playing the violin, singing with my a cappella group, and performing musical theatre. My current summer project is rereading the Harry Potter books.
