During our session, we worked mostly on ACT reading passages. The student finished up one passage, and we went through the correct and incorrect answers and why he missed certain questions. We also went through some ACT vocab words, which I had him write in his own words. He seemed to have a better grasp on the vocab this week. I will quiz him on Don Quixote and vocab on Thursday.

The student and I reviewed and covered many different problems pertaining to logarithms. He has a great overall grasp of mathematics and the foundations of algebra 2. He has a great attitude towards learning material. We talked about a few test-taking strategies so he can better maximize his time, such as seeing which test questions are worth the most points, and spending less time on problems that he gets stuck on.

Tonight we covered hybridization orbitals, electron and molecular geometry, and bond angles. We also reviewed some material from previous chapters before his exam tomorrow morning. We had a good session and cleared up some confusion. A lot of the material will have to be memorized, but we worked on repetition throughout the appointment.

We covered the ideal gas law (PV = nRT), percent error, and percent uncertainty. On the ideal gas law, we discussed unit conversions and using the equation to find the molar mass of the gas (Mm) when you know density, pressure, and temperature. The student's attitude seemed good. She followed the logic of how you convert PV = nRT to Mm = (density)(gas constant)(temp)/pressure.

The student and I did more review on trig integration and trig substitutions. We definitely hit a good point on using trig substitutions and getting practice with them. We started looking at improper fraction integration, and we will continue with that during the next session.
