I am a life long learner and passionate educator. I have a Music Education degree from McGill University in Montreal (yes, it is definitely colder in Canada!). My primary instruments are the trumpet and piano, however I have taken classes on every instrument. I incorporate music theory and aural skills into all music instruction. I am particularly passionate about Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and bring that to the forefront of all of my teaching. During my 5 years at McGill University I took many broad range education courses in addition to the music classes. I am also passionate about the French language, as I lived in Quebec for 5 years. I was a very involved student on and off campus and completed both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in 4 years, so I learned excellent time management and study practices. I'm originally from the Chicago suburbs but travel a lot for work and have lived all over the world, and love being able to communicate in the native language of places I travel. I speak both French and Nepali at an advanced level!
