About Me

I love to help and encourage kids who are struggling. Anyone can learn if they have a little help! I have a bachelor's degree in education, with hours in gifted education as well. I was a public school teacher for 10 years, but I have been tutoring individuals for over 45 years-- since I was 15 years old. I have worked with kids as young as preschool and as old as high school, but my focus has been mostly on elementary and middle school aged students. I am excellent with kids who are reluctant or don't like school at all. My focus is on finding their strengths and using those to help their weaknesses. Besides teaching and tutoring, I am a published choral composer, with over 25 pieces in publication at this time. I love all forms of music. I also love to play tennis, and when I'm not teaching or composing, you will find me on the tennis court. I am excited about each new student I meet, and I can't wait to meet your child next!
