About Me

Dr. Christen Johnson MD, MPH, is a board certified family medicine physician in her hometown of Columbus, Ohio. She attended high school locally and was involved in softball, track, and community service so she is very understanding of kids and teens with busy schedules. She attended Wright State University, where she graduated cum laude with an honors BA in biological sciences and a certificate in African American and womens gender studies and earned a doctorate of medicine and a master's of public health from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. She has been honored with more than 20 scholarships and awards. Christen has a special interest in education. Her 10 years of experience includes teaching homeschooled students, instructing college courses, college access advising, and tutoring a variety of subjects from elementary school to Division I college athletes. With 20+ local, regional, and national research presentations and 10+ publications in peer-reviewed journals, textbooks, and grants alongside five competitive research and leadership fellowships, Christen is known for her positive attitude and communicating tough topics with ease. She makes learning fun. Christen's favorite topics to tutor include science, english, reading, "Adulting", and college access topics as outlined here. In her free time, Christen enjoys movies, painting, and leisurely running with her miniature poodle.
