About Me

I graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in Biochemistry. When I was younger, I have always enjoyed helping my classmates in subjects that I do well. I first started tutoring the summer before I started college and since then, I have worked with various students, ranging from 1st graders to 10th graders in math, science, reading and writing. I am also fluent in Mandarin Chinese and I am familiar with preparation for standardized tests. My favorite part about tutoring is seeing my students' excitement when they learned something new or when they have come to understand a difficult concept. Through my experiences, I have learned to identify individual student's strengths and weaknesses and to tailor my teaching approach to each individual. I enjoy tutoring students and sharing my experience and study skills to help them achieve their academic goals. When I tutor, I regularly check on the student's understanding and adjust the materials that I teach based on the particular areas the student needs help with. I believe that having a full understanding of the materials and the process of problem solving rather than mere memorization is essential to learning.
