About Me

I graduated from University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics in May 2014. I got in the PHD program in University of Hawaii at Manoa with teaching assistance position in Fall 2014. But I decided to take a break. I have been tutoring for the last two years and have tutored over 1700 hours with all ages of students. Most of the time I tutor all levels of mathematics, but I also enjoy tutoring high school physics or chemistry. I tutor Mandarin Chinese as well. I love tutoring a variety of subjects. I have found that students sometimes have a hard time understanding the concepts or sometimes they just choose not to learn the concept. But I can always find a way to help them realize that math is not a complicated subject. What they really need is a little bit of encouragement and a little bit of practicing easier questions to build their confidence in math. My teaching philosophy is to build confidence for my students. Outside of academia, I like to reading novels, watching movies and listening to music. And I am a very out-going person and love to meet new friends.
