Hello! I recently graduated with a BA in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College. I have a passion for reading, writing, and film and I am currently taking an online graduate course in TV writing with UCLA. The subjects I tutor in include essay editing, writing, and reading comprehension (i.e. anything pertaining to writing and english.) My tutoring style is collaboration based and tailored to each student's individual learning style. I have first hand experience with how frustrating it can be to get lost in a classroom and feel like you're falling behind, because you don't learn or retain information the same way as your peers, so I find it's the most beneficial to understand each student's relationship with the subject material and developing a plan from there, opposed to instilling a generalized "one size fits all" agenda.

Teaching modern histology and physiology requires a strong understanding of cell and molecular biology, and I incorporate these areas into my current teaching. During my 25 years at the University of Puget Sound, I continually served on our Health Professions Advising Committee, and was chair of this committee for three years. We advised students in all aspects of their applications for professional schools in diverse areas of health care professions, such as medical and dental school, among other professional health-related graduate programs. As chair of the committee I was solely responsible for writing committee letters for all of our students who applied through our committee. As a science educator, I serve my students, and do my utmost to provide them with a modern education in biology.
