I am a current graduate student at the University of Connecticut receiving my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I graduated from Uconn's Neag School of Education last May with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics. I have experience teaching all subjects to a variety of elementary aged students. Currently, I am an in school tutor for reading intervention, specifically for kindergarten, first and Second grade students. I believe that every child learns differently and I am dedicated to meeting the individual needs of all learners. While it is not always easy, working through challenges is an important part of learning. A priority of mine is to keep students engaged and involved! I have been learning and working with Java for over 2 and a half years now. I currently work as a TA for a computer science course teaching the fundamental concepts of Java.As a student myself, I can understand the frustration of not being able to follow along with a certain topic in class whether that is due to bad teaching or just the concept overall is difficult. What I've learned from my TA experience is that students learn best when they feel like they're being understood. My initial focus when teaching is to find out what you already know and your view of the concept we're going over. I believe this would allow both of us to efficiently utilize our time in the session.
