Over my 20-year career in academia, I have had the privilege of being a student or research academic at many universities -- including Princeton University, University of Alaska Fairbanks, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Eastern Michigan University, Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, and Madison College. As a polymath graduating with highest honors, Summa Cum Laude (3.98 GPA), I earned a second bachelor's degree in Professional Geology with a noncompulsory minor in Earth Science (i.e., hydrologic and atmospheric sciences) from Eastern Michigan University in 2021.As part of my geology field work, I was one of a few individuals competitively selected from outside the University of Alaska to take part in UAF's prestigious summer field geology program. Given that my field work entailed cruising the Alaskan wilderness in bush planes to remote regions of the alpine tundra and learning how to fend against grizzlies, I have anything but a typical geology education. In addition to receiving many academic distinctions (fellowships, scholarships, and awards) across my career and several publications in world-class peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Paleontology, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Current Biology, I have also had digital illustrations featured in publications such as Nature, The New York Times, New Scientist, and Discover Magazine. I was a student member of professional organizations such as The Geological Society of America, the American Institute of Professional Geologists, and more.I was previously Lead Instructor for a National Science Foundation supported education technology startup. I served approximately 10,000 secondary students over that career and have been lauded by educators in top-rated school districts for my capacity to distill complex ideas into easy to digest metaphors and analogies. No matter whether you are a high school environmental student, a gen-ed fulfilling undergraduate, or a budding geoscientist, if you want to academically succeed, contact me.

I am a graduate of Syracuse University, with a BS in bioengineering. I am pursuing my MS in electrical engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. I spent my senior year tutoring student athletes in calculus and physics, and currently tutor physics and high school mathematics at a private tutoring center. I'm passionate about the subjects as I teach, and believe mathematical literacy is a critical component to success. Any student can become successful in math with the proper instruction and perspective!

Hello I am Mark. I am what most consider a computer science powerhouse. I was formally taught programming starting at the tender age of 12. Throughout my 15 years of computer programming, I have sharpened my knowledge of computer science through creation and contribution to several applications in several programming languages. Essentially building application used by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide either though my company or freelancing. I studied Control & Instrumentation Engineering at The University of Houston- Downtown to help me become closer to the understanding of robotic technology to use with my computer science skills.I spent 5 years as a mobile application curriculum developer and the Mobile Application Development Chair of an Institute. During this time I constructed an entire associate program that is still being used today. I used my vast knowledge and unique teaching style to develop promising developers that are currently disrupting the computer science industry. I keep active communication with all of my students, because from time to time they seek advice or help with a problem they may be having.I enjoy teaching and helping individuals learn new skills that I have been blessed to be gifted with. I try to understand and cater to every students' individual needs, because no one student learns the same way. I explain every concept with a VAK teaching style; meaning strategically explaining concepts Visually, Auditory, and Kinesthetic. I take pride in my students growth and success. Having these skills inevitably brings a fundamental understanding of how to explain these competencies to any individual.Feel free to contact me to learn from an teacher with over 3000 hours of in-person teaching. Building strong technology and minds is my passion, and teaching you is my priority. I believe that sharing knowledge is the most positive way to help humanity.

I graduated from Emory University with degrees in chemistry and violin performance. I am currently working as a medical assistant in dermatology until I start medical school in the fall at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. I have always had a passion for helping others, and one way I could do so was by tutoring students so that they could achieve their full potential. During my time as an undergraduate, I was a part of the Emory Dream Project, a student-run organization that tutored at a local high school. I helped students with their algebra, trigonometry, and pre-calculus coursework. I particularly love tutoring math and physics because there are many different approaches to solving one problem. If one way does not make sense to the student, we can try another method that may click with them.

I am an undergraduate engineering student at North Carolina University, I plan on double majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I love math; the logic and problem solving involved in the subject makes this my favorite subject to tutor. Similarly, I also enjoy physics because this subject is like a puzzle, and I enjoy breaking a problem down into its components. I tutor math up to Calculus 3 and Physics from High School Physics 1 and AP Physics to College level physics. As a current college student, I understand what works for students and what doesn't work; my teaching philosophy is simple and systematic. I break the problem down into small steps that are easy to follow and show a clear logical solution to the problem, the next step is practice, which will further ingrain the process in your brain, and allow you to do it easily during examinations.Outside of academia I enjoy playing soccer, fishing, hiking and camping. I currently play on the NC State Club soccer team, and my most recent camping trip was in the Florida Keys, where the fishing was amazing.

I am excited about helping students learn academic material or prepare for standardized exams so that they can achieve their goals. I also think the learning process reveals a lot about who you are, and understanding yourself enables better decision making about your future. I would be happy to help when needed because it's important to feel confident in your identity and abilities, to have self-awareness, and to make informed decisions.I am currently a senior earning a BA in Medical Humanities and Health studies and a minor in Mathematics at IUPUI. I intend to go to graduate school for pubic health with the intention of becoming an epidemiologist.I enjoy dancing, swimming, singing, playing the oboe, and painting in my free time. I am eager to start working with students to help them discover their interests and strengths and achieve their goals.

Making sense of difficult material not only makes for a challenge but also a sense of accomplishment. I take the approach that most material that is perceived as difficult is only viewed that way due to the way the material is presented. I tend to break concepts down using common language and parallel those concepts with information that is already well understood. Most importantly, I feel that the information is interesting and engaging and I try to present it in exactly that manner.I have a broad range of educational experience as I started my college life attending art school to pursue a degree in traditional animation for making films. Although I did not finish my degree in animation, I did acquire some unique skills and experiences in the realm of fine art and drawing.I started pursuing subjects that interested me and was specifically pulled toward the sciences. I was lucky to have had several exceptional teachers and their guidance inspired me to obtain a degree in Chemistry. It was during this path to obtain my Bachelor's degree that I was introduced to my favorite subject, Organic Chemistry. The instructor that I had for Organic Chemistry was amazing and made the class not only amusing and interesting but also fun. The experience of understanding Organic Chemistry inspired me to pursue a Master's degree specifically in this subject. While in graduate school, I was a teaching assistant and this was very rewarding for me as I had the opportunity to share the knowledge that I had gained over my college years and pass that information on to students that were currently taking the class. It was this experience that caused me to realize that I really had a passion for teaching. To see how grateful students were to have me help them understand Chemistry was more fulfilling that any other employment experience that I have ever had.I am currently an instructor of Organic Chemistry at a local community college and I am looking forward to what the future holds in store.
