I am a recent graduate of the University of Sussex in Brighton, U.K., where I received an M.A. in Modern and Contemporary Literature, Culture, and Thought. I received my B.A. in English and History from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts in 2011. Having grown up in Alabama, completed an undergraduate degree in Massachusetts, and a Master's in the U.K., I have tutored students from a broad range of backgrounds in an even broader range of subject areas. I have worked with students in subjects ranging from History and Government to Reading, Writing, and Grammar. I am passionate about helping others to realize their academic potentials, and I believe that my most important responsibility as a tutor is helping my students to develop the reading, writing, and critical thinking skills that will allow them to excel in all subject areas.

Tutoring students is of interest to me because I potentially would like a profession in education in the future. My experience includes tutoring middle- and high-school students over the last 2 years. I have my high school diploma and am currently finishing my first year in college. Now I am working to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry. With that said, I tutor many STEM based subjects, along with ACT tests and strategies. My current favorite subject is General Chemistry, but my favorite changes every so often. My tutoring style is based off trying to get to know every student I work with and their unique thought processes.I have many hobbies and interests outside tutoring such as cooking and baking (I am a certified chef!), running, gymnastics, and learning new languages!

Since graduation, I have taken a gap year to work and build my medical school resume. Sometimes why a student struggles with a subject is because their foundational knowledge of that subject is not strong enough. My favorite subjects to tutor in are physics and mathematics. In my free time, I enjoy baking, painting, and exercising. Most summers I travel abroad to take care of my grandmother and work on keeping up my language skills (Turkish).

While attending many international music camps, traversing four continents and criss crossing America by car I like to impart a passion for learning to all my students. Whether it was teaching elementary school children to read, teaching business executives ESL and Spanish or the many years I ran my private piano studio in my home, enjoying the great journey of learning together is what I'm most passionate about sharing. I hike and run daily with my Beagle and am also an avid skier and yoga practitioner.

I am currently enrolled in 12-week course to become a certified ESL instructor to teach non-English speaking young adults in Austria. I tutor a broad range of subjects dealing primarily with English and American Literature, as well as creative and essay writing. As a former high school student, I tended to struggle with my studies. My mother kindly enrolled me with talented and dedicated tutors. I finally got the one-on-one attention I needed and my academic career improved tremendously. I will dedicate myself to improving a student’s learning the same way I was taught. I believe a friendly demeanor and patience allows for a student to feel confident and comfortable while engaging with the curriculum. My interest in both pharmacology and drug discovery led to my endeavor of achieving novel cell signaling pathways that can steer the wheel of developing therapeutical means for cancerous diseases.For in-person sessions: I am vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19.
