"I assisted the student with his SAT prep. First, I checked his homework. He did a great job on the reading sections I assigned him, scoring 90% for 20 questions! He also did pretty well on the writing section I gave him. After reviewing these questions, we started focusing on the math. We went over equations for circles and parabolas and worked on other concepts as well. After the session, I assigned him some homework. All in all, he is showing great signs of improvement in the reading and writing; he primarily needs to hone his math skills to do a great job on the test."
"I had the student complete a practice test as if he were taking a real test. I set my phone for 30 minutes. Afterwards I had him walk me through the process of figuring out how to correctly solve problems that he missed. I believed it was important to help him develop his study skills. For homework he had to come up with a list of topics for me to go over with him in our next session"
"I have constructed a basic lesson plan for the reading, writing, and math sections so that we will have time to cover everything along with time for review before the test. Today we went over inequalities, integers, and absolute values, all of which she has seen before and just needed a little bit of review to remember. We also looked at sentence completion questions for the reading section, which she was able to do well, though it took a bit of time for her to find the answer. I assigned her some vocab and a practice essay to try and do before our next lesson."
"I helped the student solve many practice questions from her test prep book covering a variety of topics, beginning with probability. However, we predominantly focused on algebra and functions. Some of the concepts we reviewed included synthetic and long division of polynomials, limits of rational functions, asymptotes of rational functions, inverses, and roots of polynomials and properties thereof. She should review all of these topics, though that is not to say she found them difficult. Over the course of our session, she easily became reacquainted with the concepts, and with due studying, she'll do well on the exam come October. I asked her to go through two of the chapters and complete the first practice exam in the test prep book before our next session."
"I helped the student with review for his AP biology exam tomorrow, including protein structures, chemistry, properties of water, etc. He picked up material quickly and seems well prepared for his exam. I also provided tips on specific questions, and also how to do well on his first AP bio exam."
"I helped the students with their math reviews, and we got through it all, and I helped them understand the concepts, some of which we had worked on over the summer."
