I am a seasoned Math Teacher with 25+ years experience teaching a wide range of students from elementary, middle school, and high school to college level students. I have a master's degree in physics with research emphasis in astrophysics from San Francisco State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in physics and astronomy with a minor in math. Currently I am an adjunct instructor at Mesa Community College teaching astrophysics courses. I have four years of teaching experience in astronomy and physics lab courses at San Francisco State University. I acquired excellent teaching skills while I was a graduate student at San Francisco State University for which I even received an honor of outstanding physics teaching assistant from San Francisco State University. I was also a math instructor for a Summer Bridge program at San Francisco state University where my responsibility was to teach first year college algebra. I have tutored kids in the age group of 8 to 15 in the subject areas of science and math. I tutor math (calculus, differential equations, algebra, geometry and trigonometry) and science courses (physics, astrophysics, planetary science). I enjoy teaching in general and am passionate about math, physics and astronomy. I firmly believe that education is one of the most important tools in shaping a child's life and I would love to be a part of that process. In my past experience I have noticed many students struggle with subjects like math and physics and my goal is to try to make it a fun experience for them. In my spare time I enjoy reading books, biking, hiking , running and snow boarding. I have taught British Literature, World Literature, Drama, Health, Physical Education, and Psychology. I have also tutored for the past three months at a Community College, working in the Center for Academic Progress, teaching remedial English and preparing tutoring materials. I am a sensitive, patient, and enthusiastic teacher. I love teaching, but I prefer one-on-one interactions, they are the best for learning and teaching. I genuinely care whether someone understands material, I believe in a student-centered approach, and I prefer discussion and positive reinforcement over being a critical authority figure. I received my Bachelor's from Saint Louis University in electrical engineering with a concentration in bioelectronics. Since graduation, I have been furthering my education and working as a lead engineer for a start up company designing medical devices. I also spent the last year teaching at a college electrical courses. Throughout my undergraduate education career, I taught elementary school children science. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Science, Math, Technology, and Engineering. In my experience most students dislike the STEM related courses, so I tend to make them more fun and interesting by conducting fun demonstrations and making the material more relatable to each student. I am a firm believer in education and try to inspire students into pursuing STEM related courses and careers. I absolutely love what I do as an engineer and educator, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. My overall goal in life is to help people and be a life-long learner. In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, kickboxing, riding my motorcycle, playing video games, roller derby, skateboarding, and tinkering around with electronics, building new projects, for example, I just recently built a carputer for my car.

During my undergraduate years I was a summer school teacher and private tutor to students ranging from grades kindergarten to undergraduate students. During my 2nd year of PA school I tutored the 1st year PA students in anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, physical diagnosis, pathophysiology, and emergency medicine. I took the PANCE 2 weeks after graduation and passed on the first attempt. Having taken the PANCE recently, I know what the updated PANCE is like and how students should prepare and study to pass the PANCE. I have the most recent resources and tools to teach and help students feel prepared for the day of their big exam.
