I am a sophomore at Villanova University pursuing a Bachelor of Sciences in Biology. I've been tutoring now for a total of five years starting in high school and continuing through college. In high school, I participated in an ENL program (English as a New Language) which sparked my love for tutoring. I went to an elementary school and help students (Grades K-6) with their homework in reading, math science, etc. I became close with many of the children and watched them grow as students and as people throughout my four years of being there. I wanted to continue tutoring in college which lead me to join a club at Villanova called RUIBAL. Through RUIBAL I was able to again help younger children with their homework, specifically with their reading. Through zoom, I would sit and read with the students, helping them with big words and understanding the story's main idea. While I can tutor in many subjects, I am drawn to the subjects of English (specifically reading comprehension)and Science and helping with test prep. I have also recently become EMT certified so I have fresh knowledge of the subject and how to pass the exam. Education is a major part of my life however, in my spare time I also enjoy traveling (especially to National Parks), skiing, and volleyball.

I love my job as an educator and truly enjoy helping others reach their academic goals.I have a BS in Food and Nutrition and a MBA in HealthCare Management. I am excited to help students gain an understanding of math. I started teaching in 2002. My first job was teaching middle school math. Since then, I have taught everything from preschool to seniors in high school. Since 2005, I have been tutoring elementary subjects and various math topics. I am currently teaching High school Algebra 1, Geometry, and Math Modeling and Reasoning. I have a minor in Math, a BS in Elementary Education, and a Masters of Education in Administration. I chose to teach math because I feel that teaching students how to use math to solve problems is valuable. Tutoring students to become proficient in math literacy is important to me. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.

I am a speech-language pathologist by training with five years of prior research experience studying language recovery after stroke. I received my Bachelor's degree from Rice University and my Master's at Georgia State University. I have successfully helped students achieve their academic dreams with higher SAT/ACT scores and top-of-the-class grades. My teaching philosophy is student-centered, interactive, and individualized to each student's goals, needs, and strengths.

I completed my Master of Science in Nutrition and Didactic Program in Dietetics at Auburn University, as well as my dietetic internship. Prior to my time at Auburn, I received my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Nutrition and Psychology minor at Troy University, where I also ran DI track and cross country. After more than twenty years teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, I have come to realize that my teaching must be practical, grounded in real-world experience, and student-focused. I believe that my job as a teacher is to help students prepare for their life's work, however they may choose to define this concept. This idea is something that I reflect on, usually at the beginning of the academic year, to reinforce to myself the extent to which my students are counting on me as a teacher, the importance of what I am setting out to do, and the dedication required to achieve this goal.

I am a lifelong learner with a B.A in psychology (minor in philosophy) from Butler University, an M.S. in psychology from Walden University and an MSW (masters in social work) from Indiana University. I have been teaching graduate students for several years and am passionate about supporting students in their process. I enjoy tutoring human and social sciences, and if I had to pick a favorite topic I would say it is psychology because that is where my journey began. I am a believer in early reading and writing because this is the foundation of all other learning, and of being successful in life.I believe that every learner is unique and it is important to work with the strengths of the individual; it is my job to support the learner so that they may meet their goals. Aside from teaching and tutoring, I enjoy taking art courses, drawing, illustration and painting, and spending time with family and our animals.
