I'm a sophomore at Vanderbilt University, majoring in Physics and Classics and minoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. I'm qualified to teach a wide variety of subjects, but prefer to focus on the fields I'm studying in school listed above; I have a passion for those areas that I want to share with everyone, no matter the education level or confidence. I believe that no one is "bad at math," but many people haven't been taught math and science concepts in a way that matches how they best learn. As a result, I try to tailor my teaching style to be the best it can be for each individual student. With regard to math and physics, I myself prefer a physical, graphical understanding of different concepts, so I do best at explaining what seemingly abstract concepts actually mean in the real world and how they act on a graph.

I'm a hardworking, compassionate, and patient individual who has been tutoring since high school and helping my little sister with her homework long before. I'll work with every new student individually to recognize his or her strengths and weaknesses to make sure that material is actually being learned, not just memorized.

I am in my second year at MIT studying mathematics, and I am currently doing a research project in Spectral Graph Theory. I have been a tutor since my junior year in high school, and I enjoy teaching all levels of math; everything from pre-algebra through calculus and linear algebra! I focus primarily on making sure that the definitions and processes given in class make intuitive sense, so that math can begin to feel like second nature.

I have been tutoring students of all ages and backgrounds in various math topics ranging from elementary school math to AP Calculus throughout high school. I love teaching math and always find it amazing to watch my students grow and improve in their mathematical abilities. While helping students with standardized testing, we go through several tricks and tactics that have helped my students succeed and have fun in the process. I am also well versed in Physics and have spent 3 years taking the highest levels of physics courses. I am Abir, a freshman at UNC. I am double majoring in biochemistry and neuroscience with a planned minor in mathematics. My dream is to attend medical school and become a surgeon. As a recent high school graduate, I know all too well the struggles and stresses of being a high-achieving student aiming for the very best college acceptances. It is because I know this feeling so well that I want to help in any way I can.

I am a college sophomore working towards a degree with honors in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas. I have spent all my academic life learning how to study effectively, earning high scores on the ACT and SAT, and I am passionate about passing that knowledge on to others. With my performance on standardized tests, I was able to become a National Merit Scholar and obtain a full scholarship to university, a long-time dream of mine. I have very recent experience, so I understand the hurdles that many students face. I want them to feel confident that they have the tools they need to succeed. I love teaching test prep because standardized tests have an enormous impact on people's futures, and I also teach math because it reaches across many fields, from astronomy to robotics. I work with students to encourage a personal path towards learning that is different for everyone.

I am a youth activist and have experience working for campaigns and elected officials and am particularly passionate about mental health, climate change prevention, and LGBTQ+ rights. I have done private tutoring for the past three years with students in Elementary, Middle, and High School in a variety of school subjects including but not limited to Math, History, and Writing/Grammar. I am passionate about education and want to use my skillset and knowledge to help other students achieve their best selves. Apart from Environmental Engineering, I am interested in Aerospace Engineering and Architecture, and I plan to pursue a minor in both of these fields. Outside of school, I hike and play golf for fun, but I also tutor several students. In high school, I worked at Kumon Learning Center and assisted students with their math and reading coursework. I am also currently a tutor for the STEP program at Cornell, where I teach middle school and high school students chemistry and mathematics. I am very comfortable tutoring in various STEM subjects (i.e. calculus, algebra, geometry, chemistry, physics, environmental science), and I enjoy tutoring sessions with students very much.
