I have always been a huge fan of helping others and computer science, so I thought that I might as well combine the two! I have always been looking for opportunities to help others around me, including tutoring and volunteer activities. This has been a part of me for as long as I can remember, and I have been tutoring students that surround me since before High School.I'm currently is college as a freshman, going towards a major in computer science, software development, and a minor in sociology. I love the wide range of uses that computer science can be implemented into, and I absolutely enjoy learning how others see problems before them and how they proceed in getting through that problem.With all of that being said, I will be tutoring a variety of computer science languages and subjects, such as Java, C++, and Ap computer science classes.I tend to take the first quarter of the very first tutor session to get to know who I will be tutoring in order to gear lessons towards something they can easily digest. I like to include activities or subjects that they may enjoy into lessons in order for the students to more accurately, and actively, learn their lesson. This also helps keep the student focused on their subject and even make the tutoring session enjoyable!

I am originally from North Africa. I went to an all French school up to the age of 17. When I moved to the U.S. at the age of 17. I enrolled in High School to finish High School and I started tutoring French until I graduated 2 year later. I went to University of Arizona and graduated. While at the University of Arizona I started teaching French privately and working part time as a French operator at a call center.A year after graduating from University of Arizona. I moved to Paris/London for Graduate School. I went to a British School located in Paris for Graduate School. While in Paris for Graduate School. My every day communications were in French, I watched French TV etc... I was in Paris for 2 year.French is been part of my life since I was born. That is why I think I am very qualified to be a French Teacher/Tutor.

My life as a tutor has brought me a lot of joy and perseverance. French is my native language and I grew up in the United States, so from a very young age I was bilingual. It wasn't until I was learning Spanish where I really started to take interest in and love languages. Being able to teach my passion really shines through to the student's learning experience, making education more comprehensive and enjoyable for everyone.

I have been teaching high school math and SAT test prep since 2002 and GRE prep since 2008.When I am working with a student, I find it is best to first determine what areas they struggle with. Do they need help with basic concepts? Do they need help, in general, with test-taking? Once I am clear on what areas we need to focus on, we can really start to make progress. I feel that different approaches work with different students. The type of learner a student is will dictate how I can best help them succeed. I enjoy tutoring and interacting with all students whether they are "terrible" at math, or simply need a refresher!

I received my first training as a tutor in two undergraduate courses which prepared me for my job as a general chemistry tutor at Rollins College, where I received my B.A. in chemistry and mathematics. As an undergraduate, I also worked at a tutoring center in Winter Park, FL. At this center, I tutored students ranging from elementary to undergraduate. Although my professional and academic specialty is chemistry, I have extensive experience tutoring in a broad range of subjects, particularly test preparation (ACT/SAT) and mathematics. My skill as a tutor and passion for teaching stems from my insatiable need to learn about various subjects. As a lifelong learner, I am constantly making new connections and gaining a deeper understanding of the content and context of the material I work with. This enables me to approach a question or concept from numerous angles, not only enabling my students to retain the material but also helping them to see the broader implications of whatever they are learning. As a tutor, I aim to pique my students' interest and guide them to realize their own educational potential. Beyond academics, I thoroughly enjoy pursuing scientific research, reading (fiction and non-fiction), and outdoor activities, e.g. hiking and kayaking.

I'm an undergraduate at UH-Clear Lake working on a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences. I've tutored for about two years now, including a year working at San Jacinto College's Math Center. It was a great experience because it was very busy and I got the chance to help dozens of students every day. However, I enjoy one-on-one tutoring the most because there is less pressure to help as many people as possible. Instead, I can focus on a single student for the entire session.I have tutored a very diverse range of students. There have been grandmothers returning to school for the first time in 30 years, high school students taking challenging AP courses, and college students from many different backgrounds. No matter the person, I am always thrilled to get the chance to learn with my students and help them develop the skills to learn independently.Most of my students are looking for help in mathematics courses, but I have also had students taking Chemistry and Physics courses both in high school and college. I particularly enjoy tutoring AP Physics and Chemistry students.When I am not studying or tutoring math and sciences, I like to spend my time reading, playing my piano, or enjoying a nice day at the park with my dog. I am also a martial artist. I have been studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2008. It is a very technical art and I appreciate the benefits of challenging myself mentally and physically.

I'm a Biomedical Engineer Studying Neural Engineering for my PhD work at IUPUI. During my years have I have had a few years experience in math, computer programming, physics, and biology. I really enjoy what I do and I'm hoping to excite people on the amazing opportunities that STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields hold for the future. The focus I give on tutoring is building up excitement on what you can actually do with the theory. It is one thing to learn but when you can apply it to something you love, that is what allows people to excel. This approach really helps students retain the information much easier.As for myself, I like to tinker. I'm proud to say I have been able to recently build myself an electronics workbench at home for working on electronic projects. Currently I'm working on designing and manufacturing a precision linear power supply and a precision function generator to add to my bench. On rainy cold days I do enjoy playing video games and cooking up a mean meal from scratch.

My experiences as a student have shaped me as a teacher and consolidated my core belief about education: effective teaching can inspire and motivate learners to be the best they can be even when they are unaware of their potential. In short, I believe a teacher's love and passion for his field can serve to awaken similar feelings in the student; inspiring and challenging my students is my goal as a teacher and scholar.
