I have helped many students achieve excellent grades in math by focusing on what really matters: building confidence and a clear understanding of concepts. My teaching style is simple I make sure students fully understand the basics, then guide them step by step to solve problems on their own. I encourage lots of practice and always take time to clear doubts, so that no student feels left behind. Math doesn't have to be scary with the right approach, it becomes logical and even enjoyable! My aim is to make every student feel confident, independent, and capable of solving problems successfully.

Helping students has always felt deeply personal to me. I know what it's like to struggle with a subject and how much of a difference the right guidance can make. That's what drives me, not just to explain the material, but to meet them where they are, and help them build confidence along the way. My teaching philosophy is centered around a low-pressure, high-engagement environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas. I use real-world examples, visual breakdowns, and active recall to reinforce understanding and make learning stick. Over the past few years, I've had the chance to tutor students in both one-on-one and small group settings, mostly in Biology, SAT Math and English, and English-related subjects, with a strong focus on IGCSE/ High school and early college levels. Each student is different, and I've learned how important it is to stay flexible, adjust my approach, and really listen to what each person needs. My goal is always to make learning feel less intimidating and more approachable. I'm currently in my 4th year of medical school, so I have a certain love for Biology and other life sciences. It can be complex, but when taught the right way, it becomes incredibly intuitive and logical. I also thoroughly enjoy teaching SAT/ACT prep, as it also can be tricky for students to see through its complexity, but becomes increasingly easy to can to the answer objectively when taught the right way with the right tools.

Everybody learns, and everybody learns differently. The importance of pedagogy, the practice of teaching, cannot be overstated. It is not enough to share knowledge; knowledge must be communicated. This is the philosophy by which I have tutored and by which I currently tutor. With 4th grade students and with college-age students, with students in America and with students in Japan, I have helped new ideas and information take root and blossom to the satisfaction of student and tutor alike. I love those moments of recognition as someone internalizes knowledge, when an unfamiliar idea becomes familiar, and the creative ability such moments foster. My aim as a tutor is to understand how my students learn, so that they can do so most efficiently.

I breathe English. I have been writing seriously since middle school, and I've won a number of writing contests over the years. In May 2019 I graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in English and a concentration in creative writing. I particularly enjoy revising/editing stories and essays but can also help with Literary Analysis, Composition, etc as well as most standardized tests and middle school/high school subjects. I'm friendly and passionate about helping other people in any way I can. I'm pretty funny (I hope) so we should have a great time while we're working. My primary goal is helping my clients develop as students/writers, and I will do my absolute best to make sure they understand anything we go over during sessions. As a dedicated educator with a PhD in German Studies from Cornell University, I am passionate about nurturing student success through personalized tutoring. With over 7 years of teaching experience, I specialize in a wide array of subjects, including AP courses in Physics, English, and Calculus, as well as German language instruction. I am a graduate of Duke University( undergrad) where I majored in Philosophy and minored in Theater Studies. During my summers in college, I worked with EducationUSA Nairobi, an advising center for Kenyan students who wish to pursue higher education in the US. When I worked for them, I tutored high school graduates on SAT stuff and also helped them write better personal statements. After graduating from Duke last year, I started tutoring high school students in my neighborhood. I mainly taught math subjects such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, Basic Math and Problem Solving but I'm well versed in Reading and Writing subjects as well. I'm vastly experienced and very patient with all my students. In my free time I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking etc.

I am passionate about helping students of all ages learn challenging content. I am a National Board Certified teacher with more than 20 years of state certified classroom teaching experience. I have expertise working with elementary students as well as supporting the professional growth of aspiring teachers. I am patient and encouraging and can help students progress to the next level of their learning journeys. I have earned degrees from some of the best schools in the country, including UCLA, Harvard, and MIT.

I am a tutor in math and computer science subjects. I think that every student has the potential to be good at math, but many have lost confidence somewhere along the way. My goal is to help students find that confidence again. I have a Master's degree in Math and a Bachelor's degree in Math and Computer Science. I have tutored for several years at the college level in both math and CS, with some classroom experience as well. I have also done some tutoring with middle - high school aged students. I work best one-on-one, and I really enjoy working in algebra, calculus, and pre-calculus. But mostly I enjoy helping students gain math and CS confidence!

I have enjoyed teaching all my life. I have taught and coached swimming, Boy Scout skills, classes and small groups in church, college classes, and enrichment classes for home schoolers. I like tutoring one to one because of the flexibility it allows me to have in tailoring the tutoring to the individual needs of the student.
