I have a been a working as a teacher for 4 years now in early childcare, middle, and high school. I enjoy working with children of all ages, especially in a "one-on-one" setting. My goal, with any child, is to help faciliate the interpretation of a subject so that they can recall information easily and apply it in a critical manner.

There are many reasons to pursue a career in tutoring. Many people embark on tutoring in order to make extra money on the side. Others may excel in a specific content area, and want to help others learn the content, too. I, however, want to tutor because tutoring (or teaching) is my passion. After taking every art class offered in grade school and winning several contests/awards, I earned an Associate in Specialized Business with high honors (Alpha Society, President's Award, Dean's List) from Douglas Education Center, a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors (Cum Laude, President's Honor Roll), and a Master of Arts in Illustration from Academy of Art University.Inspired by the old masters as well as modern artists, I have experience in a variety of areas including drawing, traditional/digital painting, and graphic design for narrative, editorial, and advertising projects. I like to mix mediums and have fun creating distinctive styles, and I enjoy working with subject matter ranging from figurative, floral, fantasy, and everything in between. Professionally, my work can be seen on military bases, book covers, business logos, an array of products such as clothing and home goods, and displayed in homes throughout the country. I currently play in two churches and am fortunate to work with congregations that have top of the line pianos and organs and value music. I've also taught piano and organ during my career. The pandemic and shut down gave me the opportunity to begin teaching piano virtually by way of FaceTime and Zoom. It took some thought, as well as experimenting. The end result is that I have a process and make it work very well.I was fortunate enough to spend 42 years working in technical fields, including system support, training (technical, information systems, and software applications), teaching at the community college and university level, and now, the best job of all, teaching computer courses to students in fifth eighth grade. I love being challenged, meeting new people, and learning new things!I look forward to what the future will bring!
