I am currently a junior in an accelerated medical program, The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, at CUNY City College of New York located in Harlem, New York. As an aspiring primary care physician, I believe that there is nothing more valuable in this progressive society than individualized attention. I am confident that both patients and students alike, can prosper beyond their maximum potential if they were to get the care and consideration they deserved, which is uncommon in hospitals and public schools, respectively. Therefore, I am an intern at a local clinic where I work directly with patients to improve patient satisfaction and guarantee a standard quality of care. On the other hand, every week, I mentor high school students through the college application process and work with them one-on-one to edit their college essays. In addition, I have previously tutored fellow underclassmen in my high school on the SAT and other standardized tests like NYS Regents Exams. Of all the subjects I tutor, I am most passionate about math, the life sciences, and writing. In my spare time, you will find me either working out at the gym, baking sweets in my kitchen, spending time with my two cats at home, or hopefully, relaxing on the sunny beaches of California.

Reflecting on my educational experiences, I appreciate the immeasurable impact that teachersmake on the lives of young people. I also realize that the skills and knowledge acquired in theclassroom, will be used by young people throughout life. Therefore, as a teacher, I hope to be arole model that cultivates in young people, open minds, the knowledge and ability to look at theworld critically, and the belief in ones capacity to make positive contributions to society.Over the past 8 years, I have worked with young people as a teacher and youth worker. At MCKSDA church in Maryland, I planned, prepared and delivered educational activities thatengaged students in learning various subjects including science, language and math. I also tutored my two younger brothers with their college materials as well. As I got my degree in Biological Science, I have the most confidence in teaching those subjects up to college students level. i am also working hard towards getting my DDS(Doctor of Dental Surgery) and we focus a lot in the science subjects. My experience teaching various students with different characteristics enabled me to find a effective way to tutor different people. I am able to manage challenging behavior effectively, conduct activities safely and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds. Further, I am very creative and enjoysourcing materials that make learning interesting. Most importantly, my ability to work wellwith others, motivate and inspire is a very significant contribution that I am confident I can bringto the course and into the classroom.

I am medical school graduate, currently taking my USMLE exams. I have always been passionate about science, particularly, physics and chemistry. However, it wasn’t until medical school that I found my love for biology as my true calling .From the overwhelming excitement of understanding how the human body works, to the unparalleled satisfaction of educating and treating patients, I have enjoyed every step of the process. I have experience tutoring High School, Undergraduate and Medical school students. I believe everyone has unique assimilating abilities and studying pattern, and the student should be the one setting the pace and not the tutor. In my teaching I focus on the ‘understanding’ and not just ‘memorization’ of content, so my students successfully use it whenever needed. Having taken many standardized test myself, I know that it takes more than just knowing the content to be successful. I work with you on developing test taking strategies as well as fully understanding the content to maximize the chances of your success. In my free time I enjoy adventure sports, Indian Classical dance and reading a wide variety of books. Some favorites include Harry Potter, The Fountain head and The Alchemist. I also volunteer and enjoy working with people.

AP Chemistry Tutor • +22 Subjects

I am a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). I received my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. During the course of my studies, I was a tutor and peer leader at UTSA and have continued tutoring privately after graduation. Since graduation, I have also gained experience in healthcare settings and am pursuing a pathway to pharmacy school. I tutor chemistry at both the high school level (regular and AP) and the college level (general inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, & biochemistry). I used to be a struggling high school chemistry student until I got to college and changed my mindset on what chemistry is at its core from a seemingly daunting, complicated, and boring subject to the very link between physics and biology. Since then, I have been an A student in college and passed all my chemistry classes with flying colors. The secret: the beauty of chemistry (or any other science) is not how complex it is but how incredibly simple it can be with the right mindset. I strongly believe that liking a subject is the first step to performing well in it. Why should you like or care about chemistry? The same elements of the periodic table that form all of the cosmos are the exact building blocks that make up you! Through simple physical arguments, you can explain all of the chemical world, including stars, planets, and life itself! My job as a tutor, thus, is more than just helping you plug numbers into an equation. It is to instill in you a love of the subject so that you can appreciate what you are investing your time and effort into and also so that you can become a lifelong learner! In my free time, I enjoy watching and playing sports, especially soccer, football, and basketball!

I'm a current medical student at Chicago Medical School and a previous graduate of The University of Nebraska - Lincoln. I also received my Masters degree in biomedical sciences from Rosalind Franklin University. I would like to tutor other students interested in medicine (MCAT tutoring) or students struggling to master STEP 1 material (second year medical students). I believe these two exams are two of the most stressful exams a student can take, but with a good study schedule and study habits, they are manageable. I am also interested in teaching younger students (elementary and middle school age) the basics of mathematics. A strong foundation of basic algebra is crucial for ACT or SAT preparation. Mastering these skills at a young age can set students up nicely for high school and beyond.

It wasn't until I made it to college that I realized I wanted to be a scientist. As a high school student, I was exceptionally mediocre at school. Fortunately I was accepted to Western Washington University. It was my time at Western that I found what I was capable of. Chemistry, and mathematics are such daunting subjects, I never imagined I would be able to grasp them, after all academics were not my strong suit. Through hard work, endless study sessions, and a blossoming passion I was able to prevail and call myself a scientist. My dream is to one day become a professor of biochemistry; a pursuit near to my heart. Biochemical interpretations of the world around us fascinate me, and I would like to share my excitement for the subject with you.

I graduated from The University of Arizona with a Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences (B.S.H.S) in Physiology with minors in Biochemistry and Nutritional Sciences. During my time at The U of A, I was a teacher's aid for physiology courses which sparked my interest in being able to teach and help others further their academic career. I enjoy teaching physiology, biology, and biochemistry, as well as helping students create individualized study plans to help them succeed, as this is the foundation for all learning in my opinion. I also have a background in teaching gymnastics to all ages, which is not tutoring, but requires a lot of communication and understanding when it comes to seeing where students may not feel the most confident. In my experience, this translates well into tutoring and I've learned that communication is key in figuring out gray areas. Thus, I am very communicative when trying to help students identify and fill in those gaps. Since graduating, I have been working as a medical scribe gaining clinical experience, and recently started volunteering at the local food bank packing food boxes for the senior community (which I have a new found love for). In my spare time, I not only love volunteering, but I enjoy walking my dog, yoga, running, and spending quality time with friends and family.
