I'm a recent graduate of Northwestern University, where I studied sociology, theatre, and legal studies. As a high achiever throughout high school and college, I've always viewed education as one of our most valuable resources and am passionate about expanding the educational prospects of others. I have worked as a TA and recently spent a summer creating content for educational programs for disadvantaged populations. My priority as a tutor is truly meeting every student where they are and breaking things down into understandable elements to build from there.

I am no stranger to people getting tutors in order to succeed. An ambition to accomplish any academic goal was encouraged all my life; thus, I am accustomed to studying hard on top of participating in countless extra-curricular activities. I graduated highs school and received a diploma from the extremely rigorous International Baccalaureate (IB) program, and began attending an Ivy League college, the University of Pennsylvania, in 2016. With all this said, I am confident that I will be able to teach clients effective ways to solve any problems they have.

I am a graduate of the University of Chicago where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. Currently, I am in the master's program at the University of New Mexico where I am continuing my education in philosophy. Ultimately, I hope to go on to earn a PhD in Philosophy so that I can continue engaging in my passions for learning and teaching. While in school, I have spent countless hours coaching high school speech and debate both in person and working online with students across the country. My focus in coaching has been to emphasize philosophy and critical thought to prepare students to think through novel arguments on their own. I am passionate about teaching and tutoring because I love seeing students learn to be intellectually independent and think through problems on their own terms by developing their critical thinking skills. I have devoted my life to education because I am passionate about it, and I try to share some of my passion for learning with the students I work with. I tutor all sorts of Standardized Tests, and I particularly enjoy working on logic-based problems like analogies and math sections. When I am not tutoring or reading for school, I enjoy strategy games (both board games and video games), listening to music, hiking, playing basketball, and just relaxing with friends.

I am a patient teacher who can explain problems in many different ways according to how individual students learn best. I only ask that you know and explain to me what topics you do not know or get so far. I know that every student can learn a subject with a combination of practice and patience, but I insist upon consistent effort and sessions. As an educator I do not support last minute cramming as the primary learning method of content for students as it does not lead to retention of material, mastery of larger themes, or the ability to differentiate between subtle differences when problem-solving on tests and exams. I will help my clients when they need extra sessions before Final Exams and AP Exams, but those who have been working the hardest throughout the school year to regularly improve will get preference over those students who are panicked at the last minute, but have put off meeting with me. Hobbies: books, writing, reading, music, films, art

Frequently Asked Questions
Score improvements depend on your starting point and how much you prepare. Most students who work consistently with a tutor see gains of 10-20 percentile points or more, particularly in the sections where they're weakest. Some students improve faster in Quantitative Reasoning and Math Achievement (where targeted strategies help most), while Verbal and Reading Comprehension improvements tend to build more gradually as test-taking skills and vocabulary develop.
The key is identifying your specific weak areas early—whether that's pacing issues, question format confusion, or content gaps—so tutoring can be focused where it matters most.
Reading Comprehension typically presents the biggest hurdle because it requires both strong comprehension skills and efficient time management—students often run out of time before finishing all passages. Verbal Reasoning also challenges many students due to its focus on synonyms and word relationships, which requires both vocabulary knowledge and understanding nuance between similar words.
Math sections can be tricky for different reasons: students may understand concepts but struggle with pacing under pressure, or they miss question formats they haven't seen before. The Writing Sample is less about being "hard" and more about students second-guessing themselves on grammar and style choices.
Pacing struggles usually stem from two issues: either you're reading too slowly (especially in Verbal and Reading sections), or you're spending too much time on difficult questions. The solution combines targeted practice with specific strategies. For Reading Comprehension, learning to skim effectively and identify key information quickly makes a huge difference. For math, knowing when to skip a challenging problem and come back to it prevents you from getting stuck.
A tutor can time your practice tests, pinpoint exactly where you're losing time, and help you develop section-specific pacing plans. You'll also benefit from practicing with the actual ISEE format and question types rather than generic test prep, since the ISEE has unique timing demands.
Most students benefit from completing 4-6 full-length practice tests over their prep period—enough to get comfortable with the format and timing without over-practicing to the point of fatigue. The first practice test establishes your baseline and weak areas, while subsequent tests help you track progress and refine strategies.
What matters more than quantity is how you use them: taking a test and reviewing it thoroughly (understanding every wrong answer, not just the right one) teaches you far more than rushing through multiple tests. Space them out strategically throughout your study timeline so you have time between tests to address specific weaknesses.
The ISEE has its own quirks that can trip up students unfamiliar with the test. Verbal Reasoning uses analogies and sentence completions that are unique to the ISEE—they require understanding relationships between words rather than just vocabulary knowledge. Reading Comprehension passages are paired with questions that test comprehension at different levels, and the test emphasizes inference skills more heavily than some competitors.
Math questions on the ISEE also have a specific structure and style. Working with practice materials designed specifically for the ISEE—not generic standardized test prep—ensures you're learning the exact formats you'll see on test day rather than wasting time on irrelevant question types.
Test anxiety often peaks when you feel unprepared for specific challenges. The best antidote is targeted practice combined with proven test-taking strategies. When you've seen the exact question formats multiple times and have a game plan for pacing and approaching difficult problems, your confidence naturally increases. Practicing full-length tests under timed conditions also desensitizes you to the pressure—test day feels less shocking when you've simulated it many times.
Equally important is perspective: the ISEE is a test you can retake if needed, and many schools average scores or superscore. Going into test day knowing you've prepared strategically and have a backup plan removes a lot of anxiety. A tutor can also help you develop mental strategies for staying calm under pressure and recovering quickly if you hit a tough section.
The best ISEE tutors combine deep knowledge of the test format with genuine skill at identifying exactly where you're struggling. They should teach strategies specific to the ISEE (not generic test prep advice), use official practice materials, and focus on your weak areas rather than reviewing content you already know. They also understand the cognitive demands of the test—not just the math concepts or vocabulary, but why students struggle with pacing, question interpretation, and time management.
Beyond expertise, a great tutor listens carefully to your concerns, explains concepts in ways that click for you, and helps you build genuine confidence rather than just drilling practice problems. They should also be comfortable adjusting their approach based on your learning style and what's actually working for you.
