I have been a middle school Language Arts and Reading teacher in Miami-Dade County for the past 5 years. Additionally, I tutored for 3 years for a professional tutoring company in Coral Gables. I am very familiar with phonics and reading comprehension tutoring techniques. I am comfortable tutoring students of any age and have tutored all ages in the past.I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Visual and Media Arts from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. I originally grew up in Margate City, NJ. I have also lived in Los Angeles, CA for several years and have been living in Miami for the past 9 years.

I am a graduate of the University of Houston. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston with a major in Political Science and minor in Accounting and Business Administration. I went on to receive a Juris Doctor degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law graduating with honors. I am now a licensed attorney in the State of Texas. Over the years, I have tutored individuals of all ages through college in the areas of Math and Writing Skills. As a child and through my college years, Math was my favorite subject. In high school, I took honors classes and was able to test out of the first course of calculus so I could begin on the second course when entering college. I have experience teaching students courses such as Algebra and Geometry. In addition, I have extensive experience editing papers and articles as well as helping improve an individual's writing skills. I was an Articles Editor on Law Review and assisted professionals in researching and editing their pieces of work. Furthermore, I authored an article which was published in a a Law Review Journal. I have a passion for assisting others. I believe with determination and hard work you can achieve whatever you put your mind to.

I earned a Bachelor in Spanish and in Sociology at The State University At Albany , and two Certificates of Teaching English as a Second language for tourism in Colombia. I also studied Spanish at Universidad de Costa Rica. In addition, I received intensive orientation and pedagogical training in the city of Bogota under the instruction of renowned teacher-training institute NICA (Institucin Universitaria Colombo Americana) .I have taught Spanish and French at the High School level. I also offered Haitian Creole , English, Spanish and French in small groups and online. I independently planned and taught ESL classes to tourism service providers in Cartagena, Colombia.In my classes, I will share my culture with you and I will enjoy learning from your culture also. I am persistent and I will always try to give you extra help outside of class if it's needed. Being able to help someone, sharing knowledge with an individual and seeing the progress made by my students make me love tutoring.Passionate about teaching I have traveled extensively, tutoring high school , college students and adults in Haiti, Costa Rica and in Colombia for the Travel For Change program; adults and young people looking to improve their language skills ; While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Haitian Creole, Spanish, culture and History. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to Soca , dancing , playing soccer, learning new languages , watching anime, traveling when I can and I would like to start with zumba.

I am a recent graduate of a Vermont University. Now in NYC, I'm here with Varsity Tutors to continue working in the teaching realm with students of all ages.I have two years of elementary-level teaching experience, two years experiencing working as a social-emotional learning aide, and I hold a bachelors degree in Psychology.I do enjoy tutoring and teaching most subjects; however, I am most passionate about psychology, English, writing, and the arts.I think one of the most important aspects of education is that you need to have fun while you're learning. My perspective on this is that you can't learn without being actively engaged, enjoying yourself, and ultimately, having fun!
