I am most passionate about are reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary, and phonics and elementary math. I also have experience teaching students how to be more organized and strategies in test taking.

I am most comfortable tutoring include Elementary Reading (comprehension, fluency, decoding, phonics, etc.) and Elementary Math, as I have the most experience teaching and tutoring students in these areas and grade levels (K-6). I have taught in public elementary, middle, and high schools at all grade levels K-12. I have taught in both brick-and-mortar and online settings.

I am most passionate about teaching reading because once a child learns to read their confidence soars and there is nothing they cannot learn!

I'm from Georgia, and I received all of my bachelor's degrees (Ecology, Biology, and Marine Biology) at the University of Georgia. After I graduated, I moved to Florida to pursue my Master's degree at the University of South Florida. While I was a graduate student, I realized that I loved teaching science to students at camps and education outreach events.

I am a graduate of Andrews University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Social Studies. Since graduating, I've taught all grades and subjects for grades K-8. I love teaching and I am a firm believer that all children can learn. I am retired from teaching and spend most of my time tutoring, sewing and crocheting.

I am a certified Reading Specialist and Orton-Gillingham Multisensory Certified Teacher. I am a published Author, Exhibitionist Artist, Community Poet, and Editor. I love to visit museums. I have managed school-based tutoring programs for Reading development and have led schools in reaching state accountability goals. I am passionate about English, and Language Arts, and supporting students with scaffolds as needed to meet a most desirable level of mastery.

I am strongly committed to bringing students to mastery. To accomplish this, I thought it was important that I am trained and educated extensively in this field. This is why I have obtained not only a Bachelor's degree in education, but I have obtained a Master's degree as well. Even with the most thorough training, mastering academics cannot be achieved without creating a welcoming space for learning friends.

I am not teaching, I enjoy running and exercising. When I am not running or teaching, I like to spend time with my pets, friends, and family.
