I graduated the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Politics & Philosophy, and I moved to Cleveland to teach. I've spent the last three years in classrooms with the last year dedicated to subbing and working with different types of students and in different subjects. Most of my experience comes in teaching Reading and Writing, and I have helped students of all ages improve both their real life skills in those subject areas and their test scores. I have also tutored kids who did not speak English to help them increase their speaking and writing skills. I can tutor math up to Algebra II, and I have experience teaching math in the classroom. Lastly, I can tutor in the Social Sciences, particularly AP Government and AP US History, as I majored in those subjects in college.I really enjoy tutoring test prep subjects, because the time spent applying for college is so exciting and stressful. It is very easy to create a goal and work toward it when a student already has their sights set on a particular college, and I love being a part of that process. I like to think of myself as a goal-oriented tutor, helping my client pick out the thing that he or she wants by the end of our sessions and driving toward it. I also believe in meeting my client where they are in their subject matter and helping them learn in their particular individual style. It does not matter how my client learns, whether it is verbal or visual or even kinesthetic--I try to accommodate and ensure that they know the material the way they will remember it best.Aside from teaching, my interests include music and cooking. I grew up listening to punk rock, and in the process, I learned to play guitar and drums. At this point though, I listen to just about everything including hip-hop, electronic music, country, and pop. I also enjoy cooking and learning to make cuisines from other cultures. Lately, I have been trying to master Lebanese food. Lastly, I like to travel. I have been all over the USA and Western Europe, and I have even made it to the Middle East.

I finished my college education in 2001 by earning my Ph.D. in economics from Texas Tech University. I have been a college-level economics teacher beginning in 1992 and have been teaching economics students since then. Over the years, I have learned much more about the economics discipline itself, how economists do economics. Throughout my career, I have treated all my students as adults, respecting their ideas and opinions, having learned as much from them as they have learned from me. Believing all learning is initiated from a point of knowledge, I want to know where students are in their programs, what are their strengths and weaknesses especially. I help them leverage their strengths in addressing their weaknesses. This in the end makes for a more confident student, someone who not only believes they can accomplish that which they face on their own, but one who will overcome their challenges and will accomplish their goals. This approach is what I have taken over my lifetime in regards my own learning needs and as lifetime learner. I attest this approach to life has been enjoyably fruitful.

I received an Undergrad at University of Minnesota Morris, and an MBA from Dominican University of California. I have a BAs in Spanish, Business, & Latin American Studies. I also have an MBA with an emphasis on Sustainability. I have tutored students in Spanish Language, Managerial Accounting, and Cost Accounting. I enjoy tutoring Spanish, Business Studies, Accounting, Economics, etc. Outside of academia I like live music.

I major in Psychology and hold a Cultural Psychology Concentration certification and a minor degree in Economics. I am also the incoming Lab Manager at the Sidanius Lab.I am an active student researcher and have done research on topics including prejudice, punishment, and minority leadership, to name a few. I love teaching and using my knowledge to help others. I have tutored individual college students (18-20) and middle schoolers (12-14) and also served as a Teaching Apprentice for a 150-person college-level psychology course.When I am not teaching or working on research, you will find me taking a walk in the woods or binge-watching "House M.D." or "A Bit of Fry and Laurie"

I have my interests fixated on changing the world and tutoring is merely a vehicle on the plight of doing so. I attended Cinco Ranch High School, Seton Hall Unversity, but I am a graduate of the fighting Texas Aggies. I have been tutoring peers as early as middle school and have even taught English abroad. I empathize with a diverse demographic, having lived abroad in countries such as China, Korea, Spain, and Poland.I am an extremely motivated individual with a wide utility of skills and capabilities. While I particularly excel in the language component and enjoy traveling and culture, I also love math, reading, writing, and most of all, thinking. Normally, I utilize unconventional teaching methods for my students, as I have encountered that flash card memorization inhibits a true learning experience.During the summer, I usually voluntarily coach USA track and field for the youth, which also exemplifies my ability to lead and mentor. I love to teach the youth because sharing wisdom is the purest form of nostalgia in my opinion.
