In 2007, I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with Minors in both Sociology and English, from MTSU. I spent several years in the medical field before deciding to pursue a career in education. I completed a summer residency with Nashville Teaching Fellows in 2011 before entering the classroom in the 2011-12 school year. I still maintain an active TN teaching license for English grades 7-12. All of my classroom teaching experience has occurred in non-traditional school settings. As the first generation college graduate in my family, I understand the challenges students often face when navigating the school system in both K-12 and college settings. This unique perspective motivated me to work with students that were often struggling with school or lacked the motivation to tap into their potential. As far as my teaching style and philosophy, I believe that every student can achieve greatness and there is always room for growth. I often approach learning with out of the box thinking, and use materials that engage the student, allowing them to make connections and learn concepts with topics that interest them. Once a foundation is laid, it can easily be built upon by applying the same techniques with other texts or materials that may not be quite as interesting, yet still required to demonstrate mastery of a skill. I have a record of success in my classroom, and was recognized as having the highest growth for English III in my district for the 2014-2015 school year. My favorite subjects to teach and tutor are Literature and Writing. I believe words are powerful, even more so when you dive into their often unspoken meanings. In my spare time I read everything I can get my hands on, re-purpose furniture, and explore real estate.

I feel as though Aristotle's quote, "Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all," is an excellent representation of my teaching philosophy. I have a Master of Science in Nursing Education degree from the University of West Georgia. I did my practicum teaching at Georgia Southern University in both the classroom and clinical setting. While I enjoy assisting in all areas of nursing, I am most passionate about helping students with APA writing, NCLEX style questions, and Community Health.

I am currently working as a Licensed Professional Counselor and have a BA in Psychology and Spanish, as well as, a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.I have worked for several years as a tutor at the high school and college level, but it is really my clinical counseling work that drives my teaching approach now. My name is Casey Ginn. I a 5th grade teacher in Southern Indiana. This is my 8th year teaching (first year in 3rd grade and the last seven in 5th grade). I have taught in the private school system for 5 years and now I have been in the public schools for three years now. I obtained my Masters in Education in the summer of 2019. I have a great love for education and love to see students grow and learn.I also love to be outside with my 5 year old daughter and husband. We like to camp, hike, and bike together. I graduated in May of 2020 from Creighton with my DPT. Prior to physical therapy school, I attended Northwest Missouri State University and received my B.S. in both biology and psychology. I've always loved helping others, thus leading me into the field of physical therapy! Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies, I've always found joy in helping other students as it benefits us both. My tutoring style definitely focuses on the reasoning of how you got to the answer rather than if you got the right answer. Many of my exercises are very situation based (as in "a patient with x,y,and z walks into your clinic...what do you do?").
