I am a board certified physical therapist, with a special interest in pediatric physical therapy. I completed my DPT at Northwestern University, and received my undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Vanderbilt University. During my time at Northwestern, I gained experience tutoring in coursework that required the highest level of academic rigor. I use my extensive science background to help students better understand the fundamentals of the physical therapy curriculum, and draw upon my clinical experience to frame that information in a more understandable and useful way. After experiencing the extensive prep-work that goes into preparing for the NPTE myself, I am eager to use my knowledge and experience to help any candidate feel more confident in taking this very important step in their career!

I attended Longwood for my undergrad and earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Science and Disorders with a minor in Special Education. I continued my education at Radford University where I earned a Master's degree in Special Education with a focus on Deaf Education. I am in my 8th year of teaching and I teach high school (grades 9-12). During my 8 years, I have worked with many students of varying ability levels and backgrounds. I have experience in a a few different science areas: Earth Science, Biology, and Ecology. My passion lies in Biology! I have experience preparing students for our state standardized testing. Something I am passionate about is getting kids involved in science and making it fun! I also have experience working with students on developing the soft skills needed to navigate the academic world such as organization and study skills. Other degrees I hold are a Bachelors in Athletic Training and a Masters in Health and Human Performance. I am also a certified biology teacher and past college professor for 5 years.
