I have recently gone on to continue my education and just completed my doctoral degree in kinesiology. I teach college students primarily but do have experience teaching middle school age students through an anatomy camp each summer. I also have 3 children in elementary school in which I am probably overly involved in their learning.As far as my teaching style goes, I love to present information in multiple ways. I often look for youtube videos on content that students don't understand, and use them instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. I also like to use images, both labeled and unlabeled. Often times it takes hearing something more than once for it to be remembered and my goal is to provide repetition but in a way that it not so repetitive. I also encourage my students to teach me. If you can act like the teacher than you know the content.When I'm not teaching, I enjoy traveling around and showing my kids different historic sites and National Parks. I think one can learn a lot when traveling and it is one way I like to teach my own children about our world, culture, country, and even math. I'm a former soccer player turned soccer mom now, but I love all sports. Because I teach anatomy, health, and exercise science, many of my students are athletes so I am able to use sports to teach concepts.We can learn from the world around us, we just need a little encouragement to get started.
