I have also worked ambulatory cardiovascular medicine. I have mentored new nurses and have helped with NCLEX prep.

I have worked in elementary, middle and high school as a teacher and school counselor. As an elementary school teacher, I specialized in the teaching of reading and language arts. My love and excitement for reading followed me into the classroom which allowed me to have great success with struggling readers. As a school counselor, I used bibliotherapy to help students see themselves in characters and learn strategies to overcome various obstacles. When I ran out of books with the topics needed, I wrote my own coping skills book for kids. I help students identifying their learning styles, study skills, and much more while understanding and addressing underlying social and emotional barriers to success.

My degrees include a BA and MA in Political Science and an MBA. I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and served honorably for 21 years, retiring in 2016. My military career allowed me to "see the world" as an aviator, and I continue to travel in my current job as a charter pilot. I am passionate about helping others in their career pursuits to successfully join the military and/or to become a professional pilot. Both professions require dedication and hard work to be successful but are also very rewarding in return. I work hard to help my students with their career preparations, and also try to provide some insight into what they can expect moving forward. Administrative experience has been as CNO/COO and later CEO of Federally Qualified Healthcare Clinics. I love to teach! I have taught in the private school system for 5 years and now I have been in the public schools for three years now. I obtained my Masters in Education in the summer of 2019. I have a great love for education and love to see students grow and learn.I also love to be outside with my 5 year old daughter and husband. We like to camp, hike, and bike together. We also have two cats and a dog.
