Someone once told me that "educating little humans is a mind-boggling process and one that will also enrich your life!" It is the latter that I find to be more accurate and the reason why I love to teach. I strive to create a classroom environment where students are encouraged to be curious and creative, to appreciate each other's differences, and to instill a love of learning. I am honored to be a part of our students' educational journeys.I was born on a military installation in Heidelberg, Germany. My mother was in the Army, and my father was an engineer. For most of my childhood, I trailed behind my mother and father as they embarked on numerous missions in over 30 countries, across five different continents. I finally returned home upon starting my senior year of high school. Upon graduating from high school, I attended the University of Oklahoma where I later graduated with a B.A in Sociology. After college, I spontaneously decided to teach English in Taiwan. During my time in Taiwan, I learned a lot about Taiwanese culture and language. It was here that I relieved how much I enjoyed teaching and decided that I had to go back to school. In the Summer of 2016, I went back to school to pursue my Master's degree in International Education.I am now in my 4th year of teaching overseas, and I could not be happier. By growing up around so many different cultures and customs as a child, it has helped me to find common ground with almost anyone that I come across. Most importantly, it has helped me to connect with my multicultural students and their families. In my previous position as a 1st-gradeteacher at the American International School in Conakry, I made it clear to both the students and parents that I wanted to set a positive and inspirational learning environment. During activities, I encourage students to speak in their native language to convey thoughts and feelings about specific pieces of literature or to deconstruct a difficult math problem. By speaking both their local language and English, they were able to communicate and collaborate more effectively and thus were more likely to take risks and learn from them. In my current position as a 3rd grade teacher in Saudi Arabia, It is not uncommon for someone to walk into my classroom and see several students nestled in the reading corner, reading a "Just right" book, or to see students using Seesaw to demonstrate their knowledge of various text structures in a nonfiction book. This free and relaxing environment is what I thrived in as an international student and is what I try my best to replicate for the students.

I am a MBA/CMA with over 30 years of both industrial accounting (Controller and CFO) of many midsized industrial companies. I addition I have taught (primarily as an adjunct at both 4 year and community colleges.

I am a registered nurse in Central Texas with a unique academic and professional background: I earned my Bachelor's and Master's in history in 1999 and 2001, respectively. From 2002 to 2014, I taught introductory American History courses at the local community college.I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014 and my Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2019. Between 2014 and 2020, I worked in a variety of roles - as a staff nurse in the Cardiovascular ICU and Progressive Care Unit, and later as a nursing supervisor, manager, and clinical educator. All the while, the classroom was calling me back to academia. I missed that connection with my students, so I became a nurse educator in 2019. It felt amazing to help aspiring and new nurses meet their potential. Helping students connect with a subject that many of them struggled with was an absolute joy.As the pandemic raged on, I felt a pull back toward the bedside, so I became a staff nurse again in October 2021. I started tutoring as a way to continue helping students while also caring for patients.I take a holistic approach to tutoring NCLEX. I spend time getting to know my students: what they struggle with, how they've prepared in the past, where they'd like to focus their energy and time, and how they handle test anxiety. I then develop a tutoring plan to meet each person's individual needs. I teach content review, testing strategies, and in-the-moment stress-reduction techniques to help my students feel prepared as they go into the testing center.

Studying the past and the future through material objects such as books and historical records is a passion of mine which allows for a better understanding of the world. I have tutored for a number of years, served as a professor for years, and am happy to pass on to students information necessary in order to succeed!I like to begin sessions initially with finding out about the student themselves and how best they learn/what they believe their weak areas are.Once this is completed, I usually target these areas initially within the first session to get a feel of where the student is within the subject.From there on, I will plan sessions targeting areas we would have discussed which will include re-cap activities to see if the student is retaining the information that I have taught.This structure allows the students confidence to increase as they will get a clear indication that they are improving with their subject as they move on and target another area they are unsure on.I think it is very important to stress any achievement or improvement no matter how small to show their improvement which will allow them to complete tasks independently with ease and confidence so that they feel ready for exams.

I have current experience in Specialty Pharmacy dispensing, Medical writing, Pharmacovigilance, Pharmacotherapeutics and Clinical Pharmacy. Combining prior experience in teaching and being a current Registered Pharmacist gives an add-on benefit for anyone wishes to learn the current aspects of pharmacy.
