I was brought up in Vancouver, Canada. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Cell & Molecular Biology from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Science in Pathology & Laboratory Medicine from the University of British Columbia. After working in research labs in Canada and the United States, I was inspired to pursue Medicine. Recently, I completed a 2 year Post-Baccalaureate program at the University of Texas at Dallas, as a pre-requisite for entry into medical school.Throughout my undergraduate and graduate education, I have had the privilege of tutoring students of various grade levels. My tutoring strength lies in being able to adjust my tutoring style to a student's learning style. Some students may require written notes, while others may prefer conceptual teaching. Certain students require additional homework and assignments while others might be self-motivated. As someone who has tutored for about 3 years, I am proficient in teaching Math and Science to elementary, high school, and college students.

I am licensed Real Estate Broker in Tennessee, as well as a licensed Real Estate Instructor. I have been in real estate for 15 years now, and I have been coaching and teaching real estate for the past 8 years.I very much enjoy helping people navigate the requisite hours of required pre-license Real Estate education, helping them gain the knowledge and confidence to take their State Exam, as well as helping licensed real estate agents improve their productivity through personal coaching. Many people come to real estate later in their professional life, and I find this the most gratifying, as well as enjoyable, helping people make this transition to a new profession. Every person who makes this transition is taking a step into a new professional environment, and the challenge is to make that transition as smooth as possible.

Melissa
American Council on Exercise (ACE) Tutor • +9 Subjects
My background is in Athletic Training. I have a bachelors degree and a masters degree in AT. My love of sports and for the human body has led me down this path. I am a current college professor teaching a wide variety of courses in health, anatomy and physiology, and exercise science. I have recently gone on to continue my education and just completed my doctoral degree in kinesiology. I teach college students primarily but do have experience teaching middle school age students through an anatomy camp each summer. I also have 3 children in elementary school in which I am probably overly involved in their learning. As far as my teaching style goes, I love to present information in multiple ways. I often look for youtube videos on content that students don't understand, and use them instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. I also like to use images, both labeled and unlabeled. Often times it takes hearing something more than once for it to be remembered and my goal is to provide repetition but in a way that it not so repetitive. I also encourage my students to teach me. If you can act like the teacher than you know the content. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy traveling around and showing my kids different historic sites and National Parks. I think one can learn a lot when traveling and it is one way I like to teach my own children about our world, culture, country, and even math. I'm a former soccer player turned soccer mom now, but I love all sports. Because I teach anatomy, health, and exercise science, many of my students are athletes so I am able to use sports to teach concepts. We can learn from the world around us, we just need a little encouragement to get started.
