I am currently a Master's student with hopes of attending medical school in the near future. I have multiple years of experience tutoring Biology courses with an emphasis on Human Anatomy and Physiology. Throughout the tutoring and learning process, I try to incorporate real life examples of how Biology and Anatomy and Physiology are all around us at any given moment. By doing this, I think it not only helps students learn more efficiently, but it makes learning more enjoyable overall.

I graduated from USC with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a minor degree in Spanish. My degree provided me with a strong foundation in chemistry and biology; my courses emphasized the brain's biological and chemical processes and how these processes relate to human behavior. As a board member of a student organization, I prepared a unique lesson to present to thirty peers on a weekly basis. Two years of experience in this leadership role provided me with strong communication skills, expertise in various instruction strategies, and the ability to excite students about learning. I'm particularly passionate about chemistry, and am excited to share my enthusiasm for science with others. With the life sciences, I emphasize overall understanding in place of rote memorization. With math, I stress practice to best develop critical thinking and problem solving techniques. These are general strategies that can be adapted to meet the unique learning style of each student.While not tutoring, I love to dance! Jazz and ballet are my main passions, but I enjoy all dance styles. I also enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and playing with my dogs. I also appreciate a good science fiction novel when I have time.

I am currently a Junior obtaining my bachelors in History secondary education at St. Joseph's college. I have been tutoring for 4 years for Eastern Suffolk BOCES in a migrant program. My favorite subject to teach or tutor is history. I enjoy learning about different cultures and their history. In my spare time I go to the gym and play basketball. I enjoy watching sports with friends and family. I am very active in my church and often spend time in church performing music.

I have also worked for Varsity Tutors for almost 6 months and have helped many students achieve better grades. I love sports, I'm sociable, I'm goal oriented, and can be competitive!

During my undergraduate studies, I spent a year abroad in Peru, which cemented my love and understanding of the Spanish language as well as Latin American history and culture. I really love to travel and explore new places, which prompted my recent move to Denver. I am also passionate about learning and I enjoy inspiring that passion in others. I have just received my BS degree in Biological Science at California State University, Fullerton. While I was there, I worked as a tutor for chemistry, biology, and physics. During my experience as a tutor, I learned how to address my student's needs to quickly adjust my explanation so that my student would understand. To improve myself, I attended work shops to learn more about tutoring and logged my progress in my journal. I still have things to learn, but that is what makes tutoring so enjoyable. Each session is different from one another and has its own unique challenges so that I can continue to learn and be a good tutor. Aside from my on-campus tutoring, I also tutored high school students in chemistry and physics. There are differences between high school and college students, but one thing I do find in common is that when we solve a problem together, we both get this feeling of accomplishment.Aside from tutoring, I enjoy hiking, playing tennis, and biking. Those are my latest hobbies at the moment. Other things I have done are football, rugby, wrestling, and basketball. On my lazier days, I will go play video games or rent a movie and enjoy a good laugh. Eating is always another enjoyable choice as well.
