Chemistry Tutoring review by Dana in Oklahoma City, OK

Chemistry Tutoring review by Jess in Oklahoma City, OK
The student and I covered stoichiometry and two geometry problems. We used the bridge model she learned in class to convert grams to moles for different molecules especially in reactions. She has a good grasp of the bridges that she learned from class, but needed a little reassurance that she was doing it correctly.

Chemistry Tutoring review by Benjamin in Oklahoma City, OK
We covered topics including crystallization, ionization energy, nuclear shielding, chemical periodicity, nuclear and ionic radii, and electron affinity. The student worked problems from his class's homework. I believe he has a good grasp of this material which will serve him well as we move into ionic and covalent compounds.

Chemistry Tutoring review by Michael in Oklahoma City, OK
This was a good intro session to a new topic. We are now moving into molar its, solubility, and aqueous reactions. We defined dissolving and dissociation of ions in water. We reviewed hydrogen bonds. We defined solute and solvent as well as unsaturated, saturated, saturated with precipitate, and supersaturated solutions. We then defined the difference between moles and molality(mole/L). In this way, we can determine solubility and molality of solutions with changing volume or concentration using CV=C'V' where C is concentration in molality and V is volume. We will review and expand upon these ideas midweek.
