Certified Tutor

I have a wealth of experience as a teacher and tutor with students of all ability levels from grades 6-12 and beyond. This includes undergraduate and graduate students, as well as adult learners who are working toward earning their GED or passing an employment certification exam.

I tutor a wide variety of standardized admissions and licensing exams, such as the ACT, SAT, GRE, GMAT, SSAT, ISEE, Regents, GED, Accuplacer, ASVAB, and Praxis.

To help my students achieve their goals, I draw upon four years of experience in the classroom as a full-time certified high school mathematics teacher along with twelve years of successful private tutoring with hundreds of students.

I believe that my three biggest strengths as a teacher are the following:

1. The strong relationships that I develop with my students through empathy, passion, and a sense of humor.

2. My expertise in mathematics and with the various standardized admissions and certification exams.

3. My teaching philosophy which emphasizes helping students to develop an intuitive understanding of the concepts that they are studying rather than the memorization-based learning experience that students are most commonly familiar with.
