The student has improved dramatically, especially with reading comp. I want to spend all of next week on math since we could still get a little better there. But he gets roughly 9 out of every 10 questions right on the reading comp and I couldn't be prouder!

The student and I went over two particular inverse functions, Log(x) and e^x. We spent time on the relationship between the two, and practiced a lot of problems solving using the relationship. We also went over different base logarithms and their uses in graphs.

Word problems regarding proportions and scale were covered during this session. The student is still working on writing all of his work down. He seemed to understand proportions and scale very well after working through wrong answers on homework and new homework.

Today was our first session. After a brief discussion of strengths and goals, we worked our way through three test sections, with an eye toward delineating strategies and discovering areas that need work. The student showed a lot of promise!

We completed the last review sheets for his midterm. We worked more on irregular verbs and pronouns. I gave him some work to do on pronouns and the difference between preterite and imperfect for our next session (Friday, 11am). He is doing well, but needs to remember to go slowly and read each word, instead of going quickly and confusing words that look alike.

The student and I went over his short story, which he needs to complete by Thursday so I can proofread it. We also went over the articles he has to write summaries for. Finally we covered solving inequality equations. I was quite impressed with all the work he has been doing. I expect great things from him this coming Fall.
