I am here to help you have success in your mathematics classes! I have a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics and a Master's of Teaching Mathematics in Secondary Mathematics. I have taught secondary math for four years, and I am excited to tutor in Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, A.P. Calculus, ACT Math, and more. My teaching philosophy is to empower students to analyze mathematics problems and understand how a particular concept fits in to the mathematics framework.

I have a PhD (Yale) in history and an MBA (UCLA) in finance. I have excellent writing and research skills, and have made extensive use of German and French -- spoken and for research. My work in finance has required skills with mathematics. I have taught university classes in finance and international economics. Another area of much interest, related to my background in history and public policy, is US constitutional law. I published a book on monetary history (*Gold, France, and the Great Depression*) , and a more recent book of essays on topics in economics and diplomatic history (http://books.ksplibrary.org/978-625-7501-75-0/ ) .... I have worked extensively on government-related projects, often in the greater Middle East. Effective tutoring should do more than impart techniques -- it should certainly do that -- it should help a student come away with some interest in and enthusiasm for the topic. (Soft evidence for the last is that my daughter earned a PhD in neuro-science, and credits me with inspiring her.)

I left teaching full time and now work for the US Government working on accounting and Finance Systems. I am an expert skier and teach skiing during the winter months. I missed teaching so I currently tutor students in all levels of Math and love it! The joy of helping individual students understand a concept and succeed, where they thought they couldn't, is what keeps me tutoring! I enjoy working with all levels of students, working to understand what is/are the concept(s) keeping each one from reaching their potential.
