And, then show how almost every topic within math is utilized by that student. Once I motivate that student to want to lea...

I'm looking to make a difference in the lives of others. If you're looking to improve your skills with algebra, I'm sure I can help! When I'm not tutoring, I spend my time playing with my nieces and nephews, educating myself on various social and environmental issues, and playing games. I collect retro video games and I make a really mean potato salad.I am living proof that education is a lifelong process. I didn't start going to college until my 30's, after years of thinking I wouldn't be able to complete it. I made it through, and so can you! And, of course, if you need some help with those letters-in-place-of-numbers parts, that's what I'm here for.

"Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts." -Albert EinsteinIn this world of standardized tests and teaching to the lowest common denominator, students are falling through the cracks. It is my mission to help people realize how easy education and subjects can be. If someone fails a class it is the failing of the instructor not the student. We used to have these values and I am trying to bring them back. Learning is fun and just requires work like anything else. I am trying to make education easy and simple.I am currently seeking to get my MBA from ASU. As such, many of my favorite subjects are business related. I love supply chain management and how it relates to everything in the business field. Understanding how logistics works and how interconnected everything is fascinates me. But as I got my start in mathematics, I try to relate everything to teachable theories that breakdown into simple facts. My tutoring style is often based on this approach. Everything is related as long as you are able to make that connection. I like to take something that seems foreign and break it down into its basic concepts and relate that to something that is familiar. I have found that small victories win wars.Outside of education, I am an avid hiker. I live in one of the greatest states to do it in and I plan on exploring all over. Outside of hiking, I enjoy travelling, beer surfing, couch surfing, and karaoke. If I am not out doing something, I am then snuggled up reading a good book or watching a great movie. I find that people who forget to take pleasure in the simple things in life often find themselves at a lost.

I have loved to learn since I was a child. Like a sponge, I cannot seem to soak up knowledge fast enough. After high school I attended Brigham Young University and majored in Business Management with an emphasis in Strategy. While at BYU I served in my class presidency and as a study body officer for the university as a whole. After BYU I earned a Master's degree in Health Care Management from Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, graduating at the top of my class.Following a successful undergraduate and graduate career, I have found that I still love to learn. I have also developed a love of seeing others learn and succeed. As a tutor this is my goal: to inspire and encourage others in their own educational pursuits. With previous tutoring experience at the collegiate level, I have developed techniques and strategies to help students perform their very best. Every student learns differently and I work to tailor the tutoring experience to their needs. I believe that every student can successful if we can find the right tools to assist them.I tutor in Accounting and other business subjects. I enjoy tutoring in business because it is something that I excel at and am passionate about. I love to understand how the business world works and gain insight into the corporate world.Outside of academia I enjoy reading and traveling. My favorite book is Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. During my undergraduate studies I completed two study abroads, one in Israel and the other at Oxford University in the United Kingdom.

After working internationally with global volunteers in a third world country to develop teaching English, childcare, and medical projects; I want to help inspire students here at home to broaden their horizons. I believe that every willing student is capable of grasping the material. However, it is crucial that the teacher finds an effective way to communicate the material to the student in a teaching method which is catered towards the student's learn abilities. Languages were an area in school in which I always had difficulty, but I was able to achieve bilingualism. Being that I struggled with this content area when I was in school, I can often sympathize with students, and help them to develop a strong understanding. I am also currently working with a local GEAR UP program in which I teach, tutor, and mentor, high school students. Giving up coming generations a better future has always been a passion of mine.
