I'm currently a senior at Stevens Institute of Technology finishing my Bachelor and Master of Civil Engineering. I've worked as a tutor for 3 years in a variety of math and science based courses.At school, I've always helped tutor my friends in the courses we take together. Learning their habits, strengths, and weaknesses has allowed me to find out how they learn best, and then tailor my explanations to that style. My personal strength in communication has been as asset in all my tutoring. I am a highly motivated, PhD physics student with a very strong background in mathematics and physics. I have plenty of experience as a tutor, helping students at both the high school and university level.As a tutor, I try to not only instruct students how to do the problem that they are struggling with but to also make sure that they understand why such a procedure works. As a student, I did not always find new concepts easy to understand and I therefore empathise with struggling students, coaching them with a patient, probing approach until we are both satisfied that we have reached our goal.My mathematics and physics background has provided me plenty of experience with problem solving, so that I can often understand concepts from multiple viewpoints. By passing this knowledge on to any prospective tutees, they will most certainly sharpen their problem solving abilities while simultaneously obtain the tools necessary to improve their test scores.

Through the college tutoring center I received professional training on the best methods to help students learn and attended weekly workshops to improve my teaching skills.I have also freelance tutored with pupils of all ages, from elementary school kids all the way up to college students. I adapt my teaching methods to the student, identifying what their strengths and weaknesses are, explaining difficult concepts, giving practice problems, and helping with study habits. I specialize in SAT (all sections), math, and science. I also have experience with AP Tests. However, at elementary and middle school levels I can help with almost any subject.

I have been working as a private tutor for two years now, and I am currently a teaching assistant for an introductory course in discrete math at Penn. I love helping students conquer their fears of math and computer science, and I hope to dispel the myth that success in these areas requires special talent.

I am a rising sophomore at Stevens Institute of Technology and am pursuing a Chemical Engineering degree with a Biomedical Engineering minor. I have been tutoring kids of all ages since my freshman year in high school through programs such as A2Z mentoring and National Honors Society. I tutor a wide range of subjects but my strong suits are STEM related courses such as math and the different sciences(chemistry, biology, anatomy).
