I'm an undergraduate student at Yale University, with a prospective double major in Mathematics and History. I strive to bring students toward their lightbulb moments not by repeating facts until they're drilled in, but by helping my students understand precisely why the laws of science, the rules of grammar, and the events of history are the way they are, and by lifting the curtain on the intricacies of the subject matter. I am a freshman at Yale University. I am majoring in computer science, and my other interests include economics and history. I have experience tutoring in an Algebra 1 classroom. I edited essays and tutored students in general subject in my high school's Literacy Resource Center. I also have privately tutored calculus. In college, I am a teaching assistant for a program that teaches middle and high school girls to code.

I am not teaching or grading papers, I can usually be found playing some brass instrument or another, umpiring baseball, trying out a new recipe in the kitchen, or spending far too much time on Netflix.

I am a graduate of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and a recipient of the IB Diploma. My academic background includes extensive experience in rigorous college level classes at the IB and Advanced Placement (AP) level. As a member of my school's math honor society, Mu Alpha Theta, I have volunteered my time at a local middle school to tutor students in different math levels from pre-Algebra to Geometry. I also absolutely love languages. Aside from being a native Spanish speaker, I have been studying Italian for the last four years and feel confident tutoring in these subjects. Another subject I enjoy tutoring is Standardized Testing, where I help high school students prepare for exams like the SAT, PSAT, and ACT. Preparing for these exams is crucial in order to achieve a good score, and I always make sure that my students are comfortable with both the format and the material on each exam. As a student, I know how important tutoring is, not only to improve grades but also to gain a better understanding of the material. Whenever I dedicate time to tutoring, I try to keep things engaging and fun. I have a strong science and math background having taken many courses in Physics, Computer Programming, and various mathematics subjects ranging from Geometry, to Multivariable Calculus, to Differential Equations. I am also very passionate about English, Literature, Russian Studies, Spanish Language, and History. I believe that the key to success is having a well rounded education, so when I am not programming microcontrollers, one can either find me watching Russian news channels to polish up my vocabulary, reading textbooks on the history of the Middle East, or simply immersing myself in a Jane Austen novel. I'm a curious person, an avid guitar player, and a dedicated Wikipedia reader. I currently am in the process of learning piano, stock trading, machine learning, and the basics of Python programming. I also like playing video games with friends, reading, listening to (and attempting to make) music, and traveling.

Over the course of my life I have had the good fortune of cultivating a variety and number of skill sets, some of which are academic and social in nature. While I certainly consider academic prowess important for the success of any instructor, I would say the most important skill set I have developed is that of adaptability. If a tutor can adapt him/herself to the mode and manner of thinking of another, the tutor, as well as the tutor's audience, will have especially effective and enriching transactions.

I understand the perspective of college professors and T.A.'s and can help students achieve the level of writing and analysis that professors expect from them on papers and exams. The students with whom I have worked in the past have improved their academic performance.
