I graduated with two Masters degrees from St. Vladimir's Seminary (Valedictorian, Magna Cum Laude, Special Commendation for Thesis), and I am currently preparing to enter a PhD program.I am very comfortable with the subjects of English grammar and reading because I was the managing editor of my college newspaper and also interned at the Washington Times and two Washington DC think tanks in the communications department.In addition to that experience, I am constantly working with students to help them improve their writing and grammar.I have also taught drum lessons to all ages and I can adjust to the learner regardless of age or ability.It goes without saying that I am also quite comfortable with computers and Microsoft Office. Hello, I'm AJ! I'm currently getting my MFA is Studio Art at UGA. I love teaching people new things and passing on my own concepts and understandings of various topics. This job benefits me as a tutor and you as a student in allowing us to both develop in our skill sets. My favorite hobbies are writing, drawing, and traveling. For me, using study aids that are outside of the box help me memorize my school work while using unique techniques, and I want that to be shown to other students as well.My teaching philosophy is to create an environment that encourages student learning and allows students to approach me for further understanding. I acknowledge and understand that every student's learning style is different. Rather than look down on a student's failure, I encourage a reflection on their failure in order to develop their skills and understanding. It's with failure that the students can further develop an understanding of what their work means to them and their audience.

I recently graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's of Science in Marketing and a passion for teaching others! I have five years experience working as a program aide for an elementary school and two years experience tutoring high school students. I can help with most math and english ranging from elementary to high school as well as ACT test prep. I especially like helping with essays (providing I have read the book or material it is based on). I recently moved to the Richmond area from Minneapolis, MN, where I earned my B.A. in French Language and Literature from the University of Minnesota.I have been tutoring since I was in college and love coaching students on writing and reading comprehension and analysis. Most recently, I have been teaching French to a neighbor who is doing work in Niger next spring.Whether it's in French or any other subject, I believe that hands-on exercise and repetition are key for ingraining a concept the mind. I like to present and discuss topics, but after that I think that the student had to get their hands a little dirty. I also believe that many people know way more than they think they do, so part of the learning process is having confidence in your knowledge.

I have 10+ years of experience in the music field.I graduated from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts where I specialized in music. I am a classically and contemporarily trained vocalist with quite a bit of knowledge about the music industry.I currently study Performance Studies at New York University.During my first year at NYU, I released my first single on iTunes, Spotify, and other major music streaming services.I also have a love for the English language and would love to help share my passion!In addition to my knowledge of and love for music and English, I also enjoy math. I was the Vice President of a math fraternity, Mu Alpha Theta while I was in high school and I enjoy working math related puzzles in my free time.

I have tutored students grades 7-12 for over a decade, both academically and for standardized test preparation.I graduated 2016 from Stanford with a degree in Applied Math and Computer Science. I scored 5's on AP BC Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, French, and English Language. I scored 2370 on the SATs.I genuinely enjoy helping students learn and grow strong study habits.
