I am a graduate of Alverno College in Milwaukee, WI. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Communication with a focus in English language arts. I also have a Master's degree in Education with a focus in Professional Development. I am a licensed and certified English Language Arts teacher in secondary education. I have over 10 years of classroom teaching experience and 4.5 years of online tutoring and teaching experience. I have a TESOL certificate and I've tutored students of all ages and from all of world in order to help them improve their English. I enjoy tutoring all aspects of English language arts but I am most passionate about writing, English as a second language, and public speaking. I have a relaxed teaching style and I love to make learning fun and engaging. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, cooking, shopping, listening to music and watching documentaries and reality television.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, majoring in Print Journalism with a minor in English.I have had previous writing experience for such publications as the Milwaukee Voice, Community Connections News, Frontpage Milwaukee, and Alive magazine. I also worked as a production intern for Reel Life Films on the documentary "Out of Respect".I am currently at Alverno College pursuing my Masters in Secondary Education. Upon graduation I hope to teach high school English.My current education classes, as well as classroom experience, has given me a solid foundation as a tutor. I believe excellent communication and a variety of approaches are key to a successful student/advisor relationship. I look forward to working towards academic success with your child.

While working as a Special Education 3rd and 4th grade teacher over the past three years, the power of a great education has truly been instilled in me. I believe that being an outstanding teacher or tutor means understanding the vital role a teacher has in cultivating the lives of her students. As devoted educators we are required to be cheerleaders, role models, disciplinarians, parents, a shoulder to cry on, or anything else our students may need us to be. As a teacher, I have the privilege of helping to shape my students into the best possible versions of themselves, and I am both eager and prepared to take on that vital role as a tutor for your childI graduated from Alverno College in 2012 with a teaching certificate in Cross-Categorical Special Education with a specification in Learning Disabilities. Prior to attending Alverno College I graduated with a Public Relations degree from Marquette University located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have a K-12 License with an endorsement as a Learning Behavior Specialist. Currently, I work as a Special Education teacher for grades 3-4 in a local public school district. In my three years as a certified Special Education Teacher, I've taught children with an array of special needs including Autism, ADHD, and other significant learning and cognitive disabilities.I pride myself in providing the absolute best learning experience for every student I work with, and I'm excited about the chance to make that same impact on kids beyond my classroom. As a specialized educator, I excel in direct one-on-one instruction and I'm confident I can provide the extra focused support your child needs. I am able to tutor K-6 of any age in writing, reading, math, test prep, study skills, or organizational skills.Outside of academia one of my absolute favorite things to do is read. I love all kinds of book ranging from mysteries to biographies. I also enjoy running, yoga, and walking around the city. My home is just a couple of blocks from Wrigley Field so one of my favorite summer activities is cheering on the Chicago Cubs! I also love to travel. I had the opportunity to study in South Africa while I was in college and even traveled to Dublin, Ireland this past year.I am looking forward to getting to know both you are your child and am committed to making this a successful tutoring experience for all of us!
