Helping students through private tutoring is something that is very important to me, because the confidence students acquire through mastering academic material is so rewarding to see. In addition to proof-reading and helping rewrite numerous papers for friends, roommates, and my younger brother, I have tutored students in Social Psychology. I am currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Kansas. I am also a member of the University Honors Program, and I will be attending Notre Dame Law School in the fall. I am currently tutoring all sections of the ACT. These are my favorite subjects to tutor, as I am not very far removed from high school, but I have much experience helping clients reach their goals over the past three years. I understand the incredible impact a solid ACT score can have on the college process.My tutoring style is laid back and relies on much student involvement to attain the highest level of understanding for each student. Outside of school and tutoring, I love to sing, dance, rock climb, and knit, and I am an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

I first started tutoring as a sophomore in high school, helping kids younger than me get through some of their tougher classes. I am a graduate of Wellesley College and was a Jewish Studies major there; my concentration was in Hebrew language - both Biblical and modern. My academic interests centered around the study of Tanach (Hebrew Bible) and the ancient world - specifically the birth of rabbinic Judaism and the Jesus movement out of first century Palestine in the Roman Empire - but my course of study was very language-heavy: by the end of my time there, I was taking Biblical Hebrew, modern Hebrew, and German simultaneously.

I am a professional life science researcher and graduate of Brandeis University, where I earned both my masters and bachelors in biochemistry. I'm passionate about science, discovery, and teaching, which is why I am pursuing both research and tutoring. I am also an avid reader, writer, and learner.I have over 5 years of experience working with students from the junior high to collegiate level and would love to use my experience and expertise to help students master new concepts and skills. I graduated with two Masters degrees from St. Vladimir's Seminary (Valedictorian, Magna Cum Laude, Special Commendation for Thesis), and I am currently preparing to enter a PhD program.I am very comfortable with the subjects of English grammar and reading because I was the managing editor of my college newspaper and also interned at the Washington Times and two Washington DC think tanks in the communications department.In addition to that experience, I am constantly working with students to help them improve their writing and grammar.I have also taught drum lessons to all ages and I can adjust to the learner regardless of age or ability.It goes without saying that I am also quite comfortable with computers and Microsoft Office. I have a DUEL from University of Paris X/Nanterre. I later moved to New York City and Chicago where I obtained a Bachelors in jazz Performance/Upright bass. I also graduated from DePaul University with a Masters in Education and from Vandercook College of Music with a Masters in Music Education. I have taught music in the chicago Public school system, as well as tutoring students of all ages in French, since it is my native language. I do miss speaking my language and I am still an avid reader of French literature, be it the classic or the most recent literature of the francophone world: Africa and the Caribbean.I am passionate about sharing my language and my culture and hope I can share this passion.

When it comes to tutoring my motto is "Show don't Tell!" and I believe that any student has the opportunity to do better with the right resources and attitude. I can help with most math and english ranging from elementary to high school as well as ACT test prep. I especially like helping with essays (providing I have read the book or material it is based on). My biggest interests outside of tutoring are beach volleyball and comedy, but I also love reading, and I even occasionally DJ.
