Growing up, I was always curious about how things worked- from cars & planes to structures and computers. I therefore decided to pursue (and graduated with) a degree in Engineering at UCONN in Connecticut. I currently tutor middle school math, algebra, k-12 english, writing, and essay editing. Even as an engineer, my favorite subject to tutor is writing because I get to help people communicate and find their voice. Understanding how to relay a message to a targeted audience is a an amazing skill to have in any job or industry.I have a passion for teaching students to be their own goal-setters and problem-solvers, that have a drive to tackle anything that life throws their way. We can achieve anything we set our minds to when we are dedicated and put in the effort!One of the things I am currently learning how to do is to play the piano, and I can tell you first hand that practice and determination does make a difference! Outside of tutoring, I also love to dance, ski, and watch airplanes! Hope we can connect sometime soon. :)

Everyone should find something that they are passionate about and then will easily put their all into it. I found my passion 19 years ago when I became a Mathematics teacher. I was inspired by my high school math teacher to become a teacher and today, my goal is to inspire young people to be good citizens to society. I impart positive values and I encourage my students to believe in themselves and that all things are possible if they persevere and are disciplined. I believe that every student is going to succeed. Going above and beyond the call of duty has always defined my attitude towards work. Relationship building is a must, so I establish that from the very inception. I have learned that respect begets respect so I respect my students and expect them to return the courtesy.

The Academic School Year has begun and its time to have a good time with learning. I am eager to help students in the learning process. Reading and Writing are skills that we all need and use to communicate. There are many good activities that you can accomplish with reading and writing. I graduated from Wingate University with a Master's in Arts for Teaching. My teaching license is for students K-6. In order to attain my license I needed to pass three difficult Pearson tests in Reading, Math and a test on mixed subjects (Science, Social Studies, etc.). I passed them all on the first try. I have worked as a Student Teacher in 3rd grade classroom for the Fall 2018 semester and have taught all the subjects included in 3rd grade curriculum. I love teaching Elementary Math because the way schools teach math now is so different from when I was a child. Schools are now implementing the use of manipulatives (like objects such as small bears, or fraction tiles), drawings, and other creative means to teach the conceptual concepts behind math. I l also have a background and a Bachelor's in Fine Arts so I really enjoy teaching math this way.I also love to teach reading and writing as well as speaking and communication skills.In my free time I love to cook and try new recipes, paint and draw, and write letters.

I am a graduate of Wofford College, and I received my Bachelor of Arts in both Spanish and Government with a concentration on American Politics. During my time at Wofford, I had opportunities to tutor First Graders in Title IX schools in subjects such as ELA and Mathematics; I studied abroad in Quito, Ecuador; and I hold education as one of the most vital aspects of our lives. I look forward to connecting with students, and my strongest tutoring areas include conversational Spanish, Elementary Mathematics and English language Arts, and History. I believe that every child has the potential to reach their goals, and it is vital to support and encourage students in their academic endeavors. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to Latinx music, enhancing my Spanish abilities, and walking my dog!

In my spare time, I enjoy watching hockey and dirt racing, attending music concerts and festivals, hiking, yoga, reading and spending time with my three great danes.
