I am a 2021 graduate from Duke University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with Distinction. At Duke, I also minored in Global Health and Chemistry and was a recipient of the Benjamin N. Duke full-ride scholarship based on leadership, service, and academics. I will be attending Yale Medical School as a member of the entering class of 2022. Having recently navigated the medical school application process with many interviews and acceptances, I have begun helping others with their essay writing and application prep. I come from a large Caribbean family and I love learning about other cultures while sharing my own. I enjoy teaching and have worked with everyone from Kindergarteners to middle and high school students to college students and even older adults! My primary teaching experience and interests are all elementary and middle school subjects, biology (through college level), beginner Spanish, essay writing, and test prep/study skills. I have also been an art educator for K-10 and adults!

I am a recent graduate from the University of Georgia with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Spanish. During my junior year, I spent the fall through summer semesters helping instruct general chemistry classes and organic chemistry labs. Overall, I personally enjoy teaching and tutoring others not only because it better helps people understand some of the more difficult concepts of the material but because it also allows me to fully cement my knowledge and help people further.
I am currently working towards my Nursing BSN degree at Seattle University. As an active student myself, I know how stressful learning can be, so I love helping others build the solid understanding and confidence they need to reduce stress and enjoy the process. I have always been a big advocate for making learning a fun experience, keeping information well-organized, developing sustainable study habits, and applying material to make significant connections to everyday life. Reducing test anxiety is another key to letting the students shine through on exam day. I tutor a range of subjects, but some of my favorites are study skills/organization, math, and writing. Furthermore, I am well versed in biology and anatomy as a nursing student.
I'm 6 parts biologist, 3 parts psychologist, 1 part artist, 4 parts programmer, 5 parts educator, 7 parts researcher, 2 parts neuroscientist, and 10 parts gamer. During my sophomore year of college, I realized how games and game research could help people. My academic background in biology, psychology, biomedical engineering, and educational technology have been productive stepping stones towards that future. I work a lot. I play a lot. I read a lot. And I do a lot.
I have a BS in both Mathematics and Chemistry from Emory University and MSc in Quantum Science and Technology from Trinity College Dublin. My master's thesis focused on my research on quantifying causality in quantum systems. As a Tutor, I see it as my job to help you understand what you already know and connect that to what you want to know. I believe the best way to learn any concept is to approach it from several perspectives to develop a more comprehensive understanding and find the framing you find most intuitive. It is my goal to help you develop the skills and confidence to realize how to solve problems on your own and directly identify any misconceptions or gaps in knowledge. I would love to share my passion for science, mathematics, and learning with students that share my passion and enjoy challenging themselves.
I am currently learning how to do is to play the piano, and I can tell you first hand that practice and determination does make a difference! Outside of tutoring, I also love to dance, ski, and watch airplanes! Hope we can connect sometime soon. :)
I am currently a college student at the University of South Carolina who is open to helping anyone. I have tutored middle schoolers and have helped tutor in study groups during college. I understand how difficult classes can get. As an engineering major, I am willing to work hard in classes and I'll work with any hard topics that you have questions on. No question should be pushed away. My favorite area is Biology. I'm a Biomedical Engineering major. I look forward to tutoring you.
I am well familiar with all the techniques to achieve a higher score. I can also show a student how to study effectively so that they do well in school.
I am currently a Senior at Florida Atlantic University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in English with honors. I have gained valuable experience teaching a diverse range of subjects. I have had the opportunity to teach writing, reading, critical thinking, and beginner's Spanish to students from grade 6 through undergraduate college. This experience has honed my communication and instructional skills, allowing me to engage with students of various age groups and learning styles. I am excited to continue applying my skills and interests as a tutor because I planning to pursue my PhD in literature after graduating with the goal to become a professor. I am committed to contributing meaningfully to the fields of literature, education, and language.
I am currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering and Spanish at Virginia Tech. I have a strong academic record in my fields. I enjoy sharing knowledge and helping others overcome learning challenges. Through previous tutoring, I have developed excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. I am comfortable using online learning technologies and am committed to providing engaging, supportive lessons that help students reach their full potential.
I've helped several hundred students in a wide variety of subjects, from executive functioning to computer science to standardized testing. I also help students with general support in math and English. Most of my students are around 9-17, but I work well with students who are older and a little younger as well. I also work very well with students who have specific obstacles or requirements, such as neurodiversity support or schedules that change a lot. Most of my background is in computer science, from my college major to my experience hands-on over the past 10 years. Regardless of the subject, I believe every student's needs are unique and every student is able to achieve great things with the right preparation and support. My number one goal is to provide that whenever I can, both to the student and to their parents. I communicate with parents outside of sessions a lot to establish their expectations, better understand students, and recommend ways they can directly support their children in their journey as well.
I am an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley in pursuit of a degree in Data Science. Prior experience has taught me that the difference between a wish and a goal is consistency. This ethos has enabled me to excel in primary school and allows me to continuously enjoy watching others make progress toward their academic objectives under my guidance.

While Beaufort's 11.7:1 student-teacher ratio is solid, personalized 1-on-1 instruction addresses learning needs that classroom settings—no matter how well-staffed—simply can't. A tutor can focus entirely on your student's specific gaps, learning style, and pace, providing the kind of individualized attention that accelerates progress in ways group instruction cannot.
Tutors working with Beaufort students are familiar with South Carolina's academic standards and the specific expectations across grade levels and subjects. They can target instruction toward state benchmarks, help students prepare for SC assessments, and ensure they're building the foundational skills needed for success in both current and future coursework.
Math and English language arts are the most frequently requested subjects for students in Beaufort, though we also connect students with tutors in sciences, social studies, test prep, and foreign languages. The first session is focused on assessment and connection.
