I am a Junior in the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College pursuing a degree in Statistics with minors in Creative Writing and Computer Science. I believe that numbers and mathematics are all around us and a strong understanding of basic applications is an essential part of every student's education. I strive to create a friendly and light-hearted working environment where students are comfortable asking questions because, from my experience, it is more conducive to learning. I tutor a host of Mathematical subjects but also specialize in helping students through the academic writing process. In my spare time I enjoy writing various forms of fiction and playing competitively for my college's Men's Basketball team.

I am currently in the proccess of earning my doctorate of education with an emphasis in leadership studies. I tutor a large variety of subjects, mostly pertaining to English and reading but also include organization, American Sign Language, and Criminology. I also specialize in academic coaching for students of all ages.

I graduated with from Bowdoin College with a B.A., cum laude, in Biochemistry and East European and Eurasian Studies, earning departmental honors for my biochemical research and the Russian department prize. Since graduation I have continued research in the biomedical sector. In high school, at Boston University Academy, I served as a peer tutor in the sciences, and I was a peer mentor in college. I have additional teaching experience in sailing, which I also competed in at the varsity level in college. In addition to my passion for sailing, I am an avid skier and outdoorswoman, and a passionate fan of Boston sports. As a tutor, I offer a broad range of scientific subjects, including Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and I am particularly passionate about Biochemistry and Microbiology. I also offer and enjoy test prep, including the SAT and independent school entrance exams such as the ISEE and SSAT. As an educator, I am passionate about helping every student, because I believe that everyone has the potential to succeed in Science and excel on standardized tests. I love the subjects I tutor and I strive to help my students appreciate the value of knowledge so they understand not only the material, but why it is relevant and important in their lives.

I tutored high school students in biology and have been a mentor for high school and college students doing laboratory work assisting them with experimental protocols, writing papers and putting together presentations. I am currently working in a research lab at UTHealth and am excited to get back into tutoring. I want to help students succeed academically and am up for the challenge. Hey, I'm Lauren. I'm a second year mechanical engineering major at Georgia Tech. I enjoy sharing my love of math and science with students. I have taken and passed all 4 AP physics and all AP maths. I also got a 1560 SAT.

I am a graduate from Loyola University with a Bachelor's in Biology. I also completed one year of Pharmacy school at Midwestern University, and I am currently looking to expand my career doing research in biology labs. I love teaching math (algebra, geometry, calculus - you name it!) as well as science, including both biology and chemistry. These are by far my favorite subjects to teach because they are subjects that many students struggle on, and I have a strong sense of empathy in the learning process. This means I find it easy to determine exactly what students are struggling with in order to tackle those problems - making challenging concepts EASY to understand for ANYONE. Additionally, I am also a musician of over 15 years, and LOVE to teach and spread the joy of music!In general, I think learning is best done when the teacher fully understands their student and the way they learn. It is important for me to recognize when a student isn't grasping a concept so that I can immediately change my teaching strategy. A student who grasps things by reading a book will learn different from a student who prefers learning by visuals. With this, I think it is possible to teach anyone even the most difficult of subjects, just by being in tune with the student's needs and understanding them on an individual level.

I have completed my masters in Medical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth and an undergraduate BS in biomedical sciences from Texas A&M University. At Texas A&M University, I was a student part of the University Honors Program and have consistently been on the Dean's List.I have tutored and mentored mathematics in the past for high school students. I am a distinguished AP Scholar. I've spent many years on Mathematics, Number Sense, and Calculator UIL teams and I have won multiple awards at the school, local, district, regional and even state level. I have attained a perfect score on SAT Math, ACT Math and a 780 on the SAT Math II Subject Test. I have taken up to Calculus III and am comfortable tutoring up to high school Algebra II. I am also comfortable with teaching material for any subject for students up until the high school level, not just mathematics. I was in the top 1% of one of my previous high schools. Hello! My name is Francisco J Ronquillo. I was born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, but was raised along the border in southern New Mexico; therefore, I am blessed to be bilingual and bicultural.

Growing up, I was always curious about how things worked- from cars & planes to structures and computers. I therefore decided to pursue (and graduated with) a degree in Engineering at UCONN in Connecticut. I currently tutor middle school math, algebra, k-12 english, writing, and essay editing. Even as an engineer, my favorite subject to tutor is writing because I get to help people communicate and find their voice. Understanding how to relay a message to a targeted audience is a an amazing skill to have in any job or industry.I have a passion for teaching students to be their own goal-setters and problem-solvers, that have a drive to tackle anything that life throws their way. We can achieve anything we set our minds to when we are dedicated and put in the effort!One of the things I am currently learning how to do is to play the piano, and I can tell you first hand that practice and determination does make a difference! Outside of tutoring, I also love to dance, ski, and watch airplanes! Hope we can connect sometime soon. :)

I will never forget my fifth grade teacher. My fifth grade teacher was cool, easy to talk to, and inspired all of his students to aim for the stars. He drove me to challenge myself each and every day; andto learn from every situation that is presented before us. He showed me that education can be extremely fun and exciting!I was one of many misguided students who saw him as the coolest teacher in the world. One could not wish for a greater role model. If I could connect with one student in my years of tutoring as my fifth grade teacher once did, it would all be worthwhile! The young and eager minds of students have once been compared to me like the seeds of a tree. We must nourish and foster their dreams to allow them to grow and flourish!
