I am a pre-medical student at the University of Central Florida with a double major in Mathematics and Chemistry. I have been tutoring for about 5 years; with National Honor Society, American Chemical Society, Chegg, and freelance. Im most passionate about Math. It is my strongest subject as well as the one I have tutored the most; however, I can also tutor chemistry at a moderately advanced level, and a few miscellaneous classes. I believe that things are best learned, and more importantly retained, conceptually, and try to steer students away from rote memorization as much as possible. This goes double for a subject such as math, which is heavy in logic; trying to memorize every single formula is lacking compared to understanding the logic by which one formula can be used to derive another. In my spare time, I enjoy music, partner dance, martial arts, and working on pet projects that involve math and programming.

I have a BA and MA in Classical Latin, and I was educated at Ball State University (Muncie, IN) and The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have also done post-graduate work in Latin at the University of Chicago, and I have written a Latin text book (Ovid's Heroides I) which is currently in use in some high schools.In addition to academic writing, I am also a published fiction writer. My short stories have appeared in various literary journals. I am currently working on a novel.I have thirteen years of experience teaching in independent schools (Sacred Heart-Griffin High School, Elgin Academy, and the Latin School of Chicago). I have traveled with high school students to many destinations both domestically and in Europe. I am passionate about helping students with their study of Latin (a great language!) and about helping them improve the craftsmanship of their writing--from poetry and fiction to college essays and everything in between.I have lived in Chicago, a city I love, for ten years. In my spare time, I like playing tennis and traveling. I look forward to helping you!

I also completed the International Baccalaureate program and received my IB diploma. I've been tutoring online for about 3 years and have worked with ESL students as well as with professionals looking to bolster their public speaking, business writing, or English language skills. Real Estate has been my career since 2016 and I've been successful as Real Estate Licensee in Colorado & Arizona and I truly enjoy helping others with their own new careers by tutoring for the Real Estate exam and offering guidance in how to be Real Estate Business Professional & not just a business card. It is my belief that when a student sees that you care about their success they will go that extra mile and accomplish things they never though possible. I enjoy helping students achieve there goals.In the state of Virginia I am certified in middle grades English and math along with my certification as a K-12 special education teacher. I hold a bachelors degree in marketing, masters in special education and a specialist degree in high education administration. I have taught many places including Texas, Washington state, Tennessee and Florida. Teaching is my life.

I was once told by an administrator that I have the ability to reach students that others struggled to reach and motivate, oftentimes at-risk students, and I found this one of the highest compliments of my career. I find it my greatest goal to make sure that all students, from those seeking the highest standards to those struggling with basic skills, can understand themselves, can define their abilities, and can work forward to becoming all that they are meant to be.My years of teaching experience have helped prepare me with two important abilities: seeing language arts as a means to develop students' awareness and ability to communicate more effectively, and a greater appreciation for the individual student through balanced and effective classroom teaching and management.
