About Me

I graduated from Calvin College with a Geology/Geography/Urban Studies degree. I went on to graduate from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and ISARA-Lyon with degrees in Agroecology and Organic Agriculture. I started tutoring in high school and did so in college as well. In graduate school I assisted students with academic papers. Most recently I have been a high school Biology and Environmental Science teacher in an urban public school. I am comfortable tutoring a variety of subjects. I am most passionate about cultivating a love for the natural world and enjoy teaching the life sciences. I believe that the love for learning is what motivates students to excel and that is what I hope to create. My experiences with diverse students and education systems adds to my differentiated teaching style. In my spare time, I enjoy writing, cooking, and being connected to nature by gardening or farming.
