With my previous students and my own children, my favorite part about teaching is seeing a student's confidence boost as they gain understanding. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Marketing. From there, I became a 7th and 8th grade math teacher in Fort Worth. Then, I moved back to Austin to teach in 7th grade math in Del Valle ISD for 7 more years. I taught until I had my first child in 2010. Now that I am a mother of 3, I understand that connecting with a child first is very important. This connection helps maintain trust and keeps students motivated. Outside of teaching, I enjoy working out, traveling, trying new foods, reading, and going on adventures with my kids. My background is in teaching math but I also love teaching reading especially to younger children.
