I am a lover of languages, books and logic puzzles with 8 years of experience as a teacher, tutor and mentor. My tutoring experience began in high school, working with high school Latin students and elementary-age reading and math students. During my time at Oberlin College, where I studied Latin and Computer Science, I continued to work as a third-grade classroom assistant, a high-school algebra tutor, and a mentor to high school students seeking to improve their grades and craft successful college essays. Following my graduation in 2012, I worked for two years as an ESL teacher at Shanxi Agricultural University in Shanxi, China. After my 8 years as a tutor, teacher and mentor, my students have been adult learners, first grade beginning readers, and each grade level in between. I enjoy finding that balance between challenge and support that is unique to each student.
