About Me

I have been in the field of education for twenty years now. I began my career in 2001 as a third grade teacher in New York City. During my duration there, I taught grades three through six. I relocated to the state of Georgia in 2005 where I continued my teaching in grade 5. I have twenty years of certified teaching experience under my belt to offer your student. I am currently serving as a third grade instructional leader for Dekalb County Schools. I hold a Bachelors degree in Psychology, a Masters Degree in Elementary/Special Education, and a Education Specialist Degree from Grand Canyon University in Instructional Leadership. I will soon be leaving the classroom to pursue school administration. My philosophy of education is very simple; I believe that every child deserves an education no matter what obstacle or hindrance may come their way. It has been my duty and my honor to live up to that creed since I began this journey in this field.

I believe that every child deserves an education no matter what obstacle or hindrance may come their way. By nature, children are very inquisitive. The goal of education should be to encourage the seeking of answers, as it is in this way that we advance. I seek to facilitate this advancement of knowledge. Whether in the classroom or in meeting groups of the general public, my goal is to encourage thinking in rational ways, so that this can be applied in other, unfamiliar situations. I particularly emphasize learning to think about trends and directions rather than rote memorization of facts.
