About Me

I completed my undergraduate education in three years at Georgetown University in Washington, DC where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service. I then attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles where I was part of the Partners in Los Angeles Education (PLACE) Corps. There I earned my Master of Arts in Secondary Education and my California Single Subject Clear Credential with an authorization in social science. I am currently in the process of adding an English authorization to my credential. I will return to Loyola Marymount to work on a second Master's degree in the Fall. I have been in the classroom for almost four years teaching social studies, religion, and English to grades 5 - 12. I have experience at both the high school and middle school levels. I also was previously a coach for the Catholic School's Junior High Academic Decathlon for multiple subjects. I regularly hold tutoring for my students have much experience tutoring a variety of subjects at the middle school level. I am in education because it is a constantly changing field where one can always work on improving one's teaching. I enjoy the challenges of teaching and tutoring because it means that no two days are ever the same. In addition, I enjoy using research based methods in education. I also believe in empowering students to reach their goals. I enjoy cooking on my free time, researching topics in Junior High Academic Decathlon, and keeping up with my friends.
