I am a graduate of Amherst College with a BA in English, originally from Florida but now living in New York. I have tutored students in English Literature, Writing, Reading Comprehension, Economics, and math through Pre-Calculus ever since I was in high school, and also provide tutoring for college entrance exams (SAT, ACT). I work hard with my students to instill the confidence needed to succeed while building deep, intuitive understandings of key concepts that are critical for success. I remember when I was 12 a rowing coach came to my school and invited those who wanted to practice sport to join his team. His presentation was very attractive: rowing on a lake in the sunset, no physical contact with the adversary, the winner decided objectively We were 9 boys who decided to try it.When we started training, we were given old rowing skiffs and the training program, and very superficial supervising. As time passed by, my friends got bored by the apparent lack of interest of our coach , and gave up. After one month we were only two left. That's when the coach approached us and, with a smile, said that the sifting period had passed, and it was time to start training seriously. And seriously we did since both of us, the remaining boys, made it to the national team.The moral of the story is obvious: unless one understands himself where his interest lies, one will not get good results!My hobbies: bridge, movies, classical music

I am a current freshman computer science major at Georgia Institute of Technology. I have had 2 years of previous teaching experience in STEM related courses. I primarily tutor middle school students in math and high school students in computer science as well as SAT Prep.

I am a second-year student at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and I am in the College of Engineering. I am not exactly sure as to what I want to do after College, but I do know that I would like to do something that involves Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science. In High School, I would teach/tutor elementary school students at a tutoring center in Chicago called Ivy Garden. I tutor many High School Math and Science subjects (including AP courses) as well as Math and Science test prep for the ACT. My favorite subjects to tutor are Calculus and Physics because they are applicable with many things in your daily life. I am inspired to tutor those who are struggling in Math and Science courses because people are very discouraged while studying these subjects and I feel that, with the proper instruction, not only will people get better at those subjects; but they will become more confident in themselves. I believe that understanding something conceptually is ten times more valuable than knowing how to use an equation and I like using real world examples when I am tutoring. On my free time I enjoy playing NBA 2K and actual basketball.
