Throughout my many years in school, my friends, acquaintances, and classmates have turned to me for help understanding material being taught in classes we have taken together. I have helped teach people in many school subjects, but I am particularly experienced in math tutoring. I see math as a puzzle that can be easily solved if one becomes familiar with all the rules; furthermore, these rules are interconnected, so understanding one leads to understanding more. As a tutor, I build links between mathematical concepts rather than starting from scratch every time. My success as a tutor is also in part due to my patience with anyone struggling to understand a concept; I am willing to repeat something I have said or done many times. Additionally, if I am teaching someone a skill, I make sure to let them try it, and ensure them that getting it wrong a few times is alright. It's impossible to learn without making mistakes, and even tougher to learn without someone guiding the way.I hope to make middle school and high school math as understandable for other students as it has been for me.

I am a graduate of Rider University. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Neuroscience with a concentration in Pre-Medical studies and a minor in Spanish. I am currently in the College of Nursing at Villanova University working on receiving my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and continuing on to becoming a Nurse Practitioner. While I was attending Rider University, I was a tutor in Biology and all levels of Spanish. My favorite subject to tutor is Anatomy because it is very interesting to me and I use Anatomy everyday as a Student Nurse. I believe that tutoring is helpful because sometimes hearing a different explanation of a certain topic or subject makes it easier to learn. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, swimming, reading, and doing yoga. I love helping people any way that I could. I believe that tutoring is a great way to help students understand and learn material by minimizing stress and increasing their confidence level.

I have a PhD in Russian from Columbia University, and 31 years of university-level teaching experience. Now that I'm a Professor Emeritus, I've became an art educator and language tutor. I've tutored people who were native speakers of French, Spanish, German, and Hungarian, among European languages; and of Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, among Asian languages. And, actually, tutoring for SAT Prep and helping people improve their grades in high school English is not so different from that. When I do that kind of tutoring, I emphasize features of the very complicated English verb system such as colloquial phrasal verbs and their more formal equivalents ("to go back"/"to return").Of course, every student is different, and each teaching situation is different, so I bring to each session a prepared lesson that both reviews the previous lesson and works on new problems and ideas.

As an Alumna of Rockhurst University, I have dedicated my career and voluntary work to advocacy and education. I am currently attending Law School at Washburn University as I wanted to obtain a career to use my reading and writing skills for advocacy. I enjoy teaching English, Reading, and Writing skills as they are the foundation for any academic or professional opportunity. During undergraduate I ran my own mentoring program where I assisted high school students with english essays, scholarship essays, and reading skills, In which every senior in the program was accepted into college and received scholarships. Concurrently, I served as a Girl Scout Troop leader where I practiced sight words, reading comprehension, and writing skills using microphones and bubbles. I believe that a creative education space builds resilience and critical thinking skills which will nicely accompany a strong foundation of reading and writing skills.

My happiest employment memories are those as a Walt Disney World Cast Member. I was hired as a Merchandise Host, and after 16 years left as an Information Technology Analyst, specializing in data architecture and business analysis.Today, I call myself a Word Wrangler. It's a way of expressing a well-established love/hate relationship with the English language. Before I took an 85% pay cut to work at Disney, I had been a Jr. High School Band Director. That went splendidly (not!), for a year, before I retreated to Technical Writing. For several years, first drafts were always painful, but revisions were kind of fun... rewarding, even. Then I learned to outline. After a while I could more easily wrangle with the the words.I have also worked with computers since olden times, even before the internet... even before the PC. We used to call them "confusers", but I've always loved them. I was a databased programmer for several years. For three years, my office was in a trailer back of Epcot's World of Motion... which I saw transformed to the current Test Track. Later, I moved to an office above the Main Street Bakery at the Magic Kingdom. There, I set up an intranet for Theme Parks Finance so managers in shops, food service locations, and at attractions could adjust labor schedules hour by hour, based on actual attendance.But... that's enough about me. Where are YOU headed? What should we focus on to be sure you are ready reaching toward your goals?

I am a highly motivated UCLA graduate with a B.S. degree in physiology and over 10 years of tutoring experience. I was in an advanced math class in high-school, so I started tutoring at the age of 16. I have tutored kids as young as 5 years old to college-aged in a variety of different subjects. I mainly tutor different levels of math such as Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and grade school math as well as some Biology. I have helped numerous students understand difficult concepts as well as drastically improve their grades. I am extremely patient, and I make sure that each of my students thoroughly understands every concept before test day. I think my greatest accomplishment in tutoring was helping a girl who was failing Algebra get a B+ in the class.Outside of work, I love to cook, exercise, watch Netflix shows, and explore new restaurants with my friends.

I am a current third year dental student at the University of Michigan. I received my Bachelor of Sciences in Microbiology with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Michigan in 2017. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Math, and dental related tutoring (DAT, pre-dental). I firmly believe that math doesn't have to be boring and love to find ways to make it interesting! In my experience, helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests and teaching tips and tricks I have learned along the way is very rewarding. I also love help navigating the confusing path as a pre-dental/pre-health student.

Frequently Asked Questions
Molecular Physics combines quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, and statistical mechanics—making it conceptually demanding. Students often struggle with visualizing molecular behavior at scales they can't see, understanding abstract quantum concepts like wave-particle duality, and connecting theoretical equations to real molecular phenomena. Additionally, many students find the math rigorous, requiring comfort with calculus, differential equations, and statistical analysis.
Personalized 1-on-1 instruction helps break down these abstract concepts into digestible pieces, with tutors using diagrams, simulations, and real-world examples to make molecular interactions tangible and meaningful.
An excellent Molecular Physics tutor should have strong mastery of quantum mechanics and statistical thermodynamics, but equally important—they should excel at explaining why molecules behave the way they do, not just how to solve equations. Look for tutors who use visual representations, simulations, and real-world applications (like spectroscopy, material properties, or chemical reactions) to illustrate abstract concepts.
Varsity Tutors connects you with expert tutors who understand both the technical depth of the subject and the best ways to help students develop intuition about molecular systems. They can adapt their teaching style to your learning needs, whether you're building foundational understanding or refining advanced problem-solving skills.
Abstract concepts like molecular orbitals, intermolecular forces, and quantum states require active visualization and repeated engagement. Effective learning involves drawing diagrams, working through energy level problems step-by-step, and connecting theory to observable phenomena like boiling points, crystal structures, or molecular spectroscopy.
A tutor can guide you through visualization techniques, help you practice translating between mathematical representations and physical reality, and use molecular modeling tools to reinforce your understanding. This combination of visual, mathematical, and conceptual work helps ideas stick far better than memorization alone.
Yes—Molecular Physics heavily relies on calculus, differential equations, and statistics. You'll need to work with derivatives, integrals, partial differential equations (like the Schrödinger equation), and statistical distributions. However, the goal isn't math for its own sake; it's using math as a tool to describe molecular behavior.
If your math foundation is shaky, a tutor can help you strengthen those skills in the context of Molecular Physics problems, so you're not just learning equations abstractly—you're learning math specifically to solve real problems about molecular systems. This makes both the math and the physics more meaningful.
Molecular Physics labs—like spectroscopy, thermal analysis, or molecular dynamics simulations—are crucial for connecting theory to experiment. They help you see real data that confirms (or challenges) theoretical predictions, understand experimental design and error analysis, and develop hands-on problem-solving skills.
Personalized tutoring can help you prepare for labs by previewing concepts, understanding what to look for in data, and analyzing results after experiments. Tutors can also help you troubleshoot unexpected outcomes and explain the physics behind laboratory observations, deepening your understanding of how theory translates to practice.
With consistent, focused tutoring, students typically see improvements in their ability to visualize molecular systems, solve complex problems independently, and explain concepts in their own words. Many students report increased confidence in exams, better grades, and—most importantly—genuine understanding rather than memorized formulas.
The timeline depends on your starting point and goals, but most students notice meaningful progress within 4-6 weeks of regular sessions. You'll develop both content knowledge and problem-solving strategies that transfer to new topics and more advanced coursework in physics and chemistry.
Rather than memorizing equations, focus on understanding what they represent—what variables mean, how they relate to each other, and what happens when you change them. The Schrödinger equation, Boltzmann distribution, virial theorem, and others are tools for describing physical reality, not just mathematical puzzles to solve.
A tutor can help you build this conceptual understanding by deriving equations from first principles, walking through what each term contributes physically, and practicing problems that show how equations predict real molecular behavior. This approach makes equations memorable and gives you intuition for solving new problems you've never seen before.
